Hi

Would someone with a 9th house Sagittarius be inclined to live abroad? Or actually emigrate in some point?
And if so, what planets would add to that desire/actual move? Jupiter?

Thanks foxy. Really interesting! Okay, so moon is important too
I just noticed in someone's horoscope who actually did move abroad that sag was in the 9th which made me wonder...

I had a great urge to travel in my teens and now live abroad. I have Aries in the 9th. No planets in 9th though. Mercury in 3rd, Aqua Moon in 7th.

Thanks! How do you explain those towards living abroad? Do you live far away from your home country?
I lived abroad quite some time (on and of). I have an empty 9th too and it's in Capricorn. Mercury in 5th and Taurus Moon in 12th. I do stay on the same continent though

I have a 9th house Taurus with a Jupiter right on MC (also in 9th) and Sagittarius in my 4th. I moved abroad when I was 20, 16 years ago and am just now moving back to Europe but not where I am originally from.

Sagittarius in its natural house /may/ make one more eager or capable of handling travel/living abroad/communicating with other nationalities (etc)... but, even that capability/ability is going to have some restriction/exception depending on their Jupiter. (or other roomies in the house/rulers).

The placement and aspects the house ruler makes will indefinitely help/hinder those prospects~

Like charlie, I have Taurus in the 9th, Jupiter falls within my stellium (angular rulers + axis rulers all barely an orb conjunct 4th house ruler, Jupiter in domicile of 4th house. Natural ruler of the 4th is the Moon, I have Moon in Taurus the 9th. Venus rules my 9th, Venus is on my SN (ruled by Jupiter naturally and natally), in Sagittarius cnj my 5th house Vertex/6th house ruler Uranus - all 4th house....

what this says is that by business (10th house Gemini/MC ruled by Mercury as well as Asc of Virgo), or relationships/partnerships (DSC ruler Neptune cnj Jupiter stellium - or to settle down/family 4th house natural ruler in the 9th, 4th house ruler in aspect to the natural ruler of each house (Moon bQ Jupiter), and Moon in aspect to my Sun in the 5th, travel for pleasure's sake... It only makes sense that I would eventually live abroad, and I have - for each of those reasons. My education was obtained within my home region in the beginning (thanks to all those Scorpion 3rd house placements), but they aspect my SAG/TAU 4th/9th placements too... so furthering education (abroad/upper academics = 9th house too), is also likely in the future.

I've always traveled, my family says I inherited the wanderlust from my great grandmother's gypsy blood. I married outside of my country, I married a 1st generation immigrant to this country (Canada), am working abroad now, and still plan on traveling more once our son is older.

All that with only one planet in 9th, Taurus on the cusp, and exalt Moon...

And, for me those descriptions of Taurus in the 9th are usually very far from the truth... insisting that Taurean for 9th house makes one a homebody, who never wants to travel out of their backyard... lol Moon in 9th isn't always inaccurate, but Taurus Moon in the 9th descriptions follow the former description...

Sagittarius 4th, Taurus 9th, Cancer 11th, Aquarius 6th, Gemini 10th
Jupiter 4th, Venus 4th, Moon 9th, Uranus 4th, Mercury 4th

~> travel <-

And, though I love living abroad, I'm always ready to go home and center myself~ (that's the Moon and 4th house influence, treasuring my roots)~ ^^; (Then again - I'm ready to fly off in a jiffy, I can pack a suitcase with all the vitals in under a minute! lol getting use to packing 3 at once now. piece of cake!)

Look at house rulers and aspects! <3

extended living (future living/retirement even) - look to the 4th house/ruler and aspects as well~ ^^;

That's what it means, yeah. Part of the meaning of the ninth house is long travels, that sort of thing.

I have my Sun in a packed 9TH house(Jupiter, Sun ,Uranus,Neptune)

I've always had a desire to live outside my place of birth but I think that "living abroad" sounds more romantic and idealistic than it is.

I live very far from the neighbourhood I grew up in though, and seem to gravitate towards places that'll take me further and further away from my parent's home.

It could be that I tend to find people from different backgrounds interesting and that I do tend to feel an affiliation for people who share a life philosophy-irrespective of where they come from- and that seems to happen quite frequently with people(and even places) far from my place of birth.

Conservative attitudes really bore me and to me, being with closed minded people is like being sentenced to death: I was working home the past 2 years, it drained my spirits considerably. I just didn't connect with the people around me at all.

Ruler of my chart is Mars and the "exalted" ruler is the Sun(Aries is exalted in Solar planet).

The "exalted" ruler of my chart is in the 9th house.

I have an empty 9th house with Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 4th house with Sag on the IC.Taurus on the 9th.I like to travel but can also be a real homebody.Taurus on the 9th can mean you are practical in things relating to the 9th house.Overall your philosophical outlook is pragmatic you like ideas and theories that can be backed up.In college I studied art,in particular ceramics, something I could do with my hands.
As far as travel goes,I'm not sure how Taurus on the 9th plays out.
I do like to travel.I would say having Jupiter in Sag makes one inclined to want to travel, regardless of where it is in the chart.
I think people with a strong 9th house like to expand their horizons in all ways.I wish I had some planets there!

my partner has sagittarius in the 9th with jupiter in taurus in the 2nd and he's not someone very keen on long distance travel. however, he's travelling abroad for the 1st time this week. It's different when it comes to inter or intra state travel. He loves it. His moon's in 3h, Gem.

I've libra in the 9th with jupiter in the 9th and venus in sag and I love visiting different places all the time. I was born and brought up abroad, shifted back home for 3 years and am going elsewhere next year.
