Topic: Venus in the 10th: any loathsome Capricorn influence in love life or can one live on?

Ok, so trad descriptions have it that this placement means artistic inclinations and general charisma, which I don't mind that muchHowever, I became curious if it can manifest itself as Capricorn-flavoured as far as romance goes? Also, Venus is not cool when in Capricorn, is there anything similar to Venus in Capricorn about Venus in the 10th? Thanks in adv [mine is in aqua in the 10th conj mars in pisces] IP: Logged |

not in my experience. i have venus virgo 10th conjunct sun-pluto-mercury-mars and it does = artistic talent and social nature, but I haven't felt any cappy/saturn restrictions at all. it's been a good placement and has led me to seek work environments and a career that makes me very happy. i think w/venus in 10th having a job that brings happiness is rather paramount because you can then shine through your work. perhaps it's just the aqua influence making you feel that way? My sag venus in the 10th conj merc (5h & 8h ruler)/sun(7h ruler)/nnode and sext asc.
My love life is okayish. A lot of ups and downs which is not capricornian at all. But I guess this placement makes me more committed than an avg sag. My partner and exs have something important going on along the cap/cancer axis. eg: My guy has venus at 0 cancer opp uranus at 0 cap and saturn at 1 cap.
Most of them were/are very public conscious and too much into family, power & class & reputation. IP: Logged |

Vedic-wise, yes. Capricorn is the natural 10th house. Venus in the 10th ( more so if she is aspected by saturn) receives a capricornian influence. Venus in this position becomes a little more serious towards love matters.When saturn is positioned in venus ruled house 7,Libra,it is considered as quite a favorable aspect for strong committed relationships,more so because Saturn is exalted in the 7th house (and considered to be in a debilitated state in the 1st house). However when Venus is received in the house of Saturn,(capricorn,or H10) it carries some degree of affliction.But nothing as 'loathsome' as you may think it to be  That being said, H10 is a public house, with Venus in there,it makes you look good at whatever you choose to do (even if you can't deliver). You may choose to take up a hobby as a career choice or choose something that you are quite passionate about. IP: Logged |

Probably. I have this one as well in my chart with Cancer of all signs on the cusp, lol, about as un Capricorn as you can get! Capricorn overtones to this Venus placement. Far more interested in the world at large and society, perhaps, since we are heading toward houses 11 and 12. These two houses are the ones most interested in society and the world in general as opposed to small families or partnerships. Seems like Venus would have a hard time focusing exclusively on one person here but that's just my opinion. IP: Logged |

10th house is a good house for venus actually traditionally...i think it has less impact in terms of being restrictive and focused on loyalty and order like a capricorn venus and more an emphasis on success in love and reaching heights and perhaps wanting to attain the ''pinacle'' of love - but also being interested in the social status of a loved one? i dont see it as a bad placement at all but then i have it so...i DO see venus in aquarius as a bad placement though sorry! id rather have venus in capricorn when i look at menIP: Logged |

I don't know about the "pinnacle of love" part but I sure do seem to fall in love with the idea of what is in front of the masses. This position is more about what's out there, not what is beside me. I see it is an impersonal Venus position, good for people who deal with the public. It is a very public place for Venus, that is for sure. Everyone knows everything about the person who has Venus in 10.I like to study trends, what appeals to the public, why they like things they do. It fascinates me. Why people band together in a frenzy and the mysteries surrounding group psychology. I am also fascinated by cults in general. I wonder why groups of people share such intense bonds. I have always been completely in awe of cult leaders not because I want to be in a cult and worship one, but because of what kind of effect they have on their followers. It's so alien to me, psychologically. I guess you could say I am intrigued by what I am not. IP: Logged |

Hi AllI've got Venus in Leo in the 10th house conjunct the MC and I take love and friendship VERY seriously. I've not been in a relationship for years because I don't do casual nor do I go to bars or anything like that. I would rather be single for the rest of my life than be with someone that I know we're not right for each other. I'm into artistic things and I am planing to be a writer. I get jobs very easily and when I'm in, I get promoted very quickly. I'm not working now (my own choice) because I'm looking after my mum and sister. Sharon IP: Logged |

Right. I feel you. It surprises me whenever I found out people talk about me. I was like, why are they interested to talk about me in the first place? :-/ My mom told me how our relatives always ask about me. And I find it funny that why whenever I'm around, they wouldn't even bother asking me how I am. If they're so curious about my life, why not ask me instead of my mom when I'm around?  I told my mom not to disclose too much about me as these people don't have to be really informed about my personal life. Also, there was a guy I dated a few years ago. I have forgotten this guy and now remains just an acquaintance. We happened to have common friends and this friend of mine who's also friends with this guy's friends told me that these guys always ask about me whenever they see her and that I was always the topic. I was like, what the hell? I wasn't friends with them. And I only met them twice or thrice, I think. What is there to talk about? It's been years since I last saw them. IP: Logged |

@ soultress tbh, I don't understand the phenomena, either. My life is not that interesting. I happen to have a couple of unusual experiences, however, they don't warrant this type of focus and, sometimes, obsession. Venus in 10th will put you before the public one way or the other. Maybe all tenth house and luminaries do? I would hate to have sun in this house. Who knows, maybe it's easier with the sun because the ego doesn't mind it as much? i didn't even think of this, but it applies to me as well. i've never liked being gossiped about but I often find out later that people have talked about me/inquired about me from others. i also have my sun here conjunct venus... maybe that makes it even worse IP: Logged |

Right, and they don't even talk to us directly, that's the frustrating thing. People say being talked about while but not to by people in the same room gives someone the impression they are invisible or not really there. It's always impersonal gossip. 10h is an impersonal house. Even though I don't have Mercury there, Venus does sextile this planet so there's a Mercurial component to this. Plus, there's a hard aspect from Venus to Saturn which might mean my temperament is profoundly affected by it which it seems to be. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I think it depends on the aspects too. I have Venus/NN and Sun/Midheaven conjunction. And no, I don't have lust for fame or attention as what others' said about Sun/MC aspect. I don't really mind them paying attention, but it still makes me wonder why. I'm not a very interesting person. IP: Logged |
