If you're a snake, would you consider yourself emotional? Every snake I've met has been. They get attached to someone and squeeze/suffocate, and hold on for dear life. I really think we are much more emotional than the goat, cat, or pig (the water signs in chinese astro). Are snake always destined to experience emotional turmoil?

I'm a snake, and wouldn't say I'm emotional. I have very intense feelings and they last longer than most, but I've also been around girls who cried because the square they painted on their little clay drinking cup (at a pottery place) wasn't perfect, or girls who overreact and get hysterical under minor stressful situations. So compared to them I would say I'm more of a rock. I have the urge to suffocate someone I love though and I have to restrain that. I know it drives people away and nobody likes feeling like they're under a microscope. I do get attached quickly though but I think that's my Scorpio singletons and opposition to my Moon (maybe PLUS being a Snake? I'm not sure.)

Yeah I wouldnt say snakes are immaturely emotional like the situations you describe.

We're emotional because we're intense and deep and don't take anything lightly. I can definitely relate to everything you said as well. -___-

And snakes are known for keeping a poker face in all situations, especially stressful ones. We have the tendency to hold things in. We are emotional, but behind closed doors. We don't communicate our feelings with many either...private beings. To others we appear perfectly serene composed and calm. That's cuz we're so good at keeping that poker face.

This is very accurate for me.

I become emotional when it comes to people I care about. When I was younger, I had trouble keeping calm during stressful times and I'd go into hysterics. That doesn't really happen anymore. Not that the emotion isn't there anymore, I just control it better.

I do get very attached to others. As a child, it was hard for me to realize that friends don't always stay your friends forever and people move on (for whatever reason.) I still struggle with that immensely. I hardly let anyone in or get close to others because I'm afraid of losing them.

Yes!!!! Same here omg.
I always wondered why people weren't always your friend forever, because when I call someone my friend, they're my friend forever no matter what. I'm very picky with who i call my friend so maybe thats why. Friends of mine have had to explain to me in the past that you probably wont be friends with one person for most of your life because people come and go, and i still dont get that. Am just left scratching my head

I think snakes are so emotional because they have to be well-liked. They have to charm, and they have to know that people liked them/approve of them. When i think back, all the times i have been emotional over someone was not totally because i cared about them (tho sometimes it was) but because if they rejected me that means i didnt charm them. It didnt mean i liked them all that much, all i wanted to know is that i had an impact on them, and once they made that clear, all my feelings for them suddenly faded. I also think any time i date or befriend someone it's to show them off, but that may be due to my libra rising, which i read does that.

I do think the snake pretends to be really innocent, fragile, forgiving, etc. but we are only doing that to charm people. we're revengeful and we definitely will be *** for tat even if we dont notice it at all, and do it automatically. I think at the end of the day the snake is kind of superficial. I'm more interested in dressing nice and having the perfect personality (bc i want to charm others) than in having a kid (bc its too much work) or being hardworking at anything (bc snakes are naturally lazy).

I do think thats unhealthy and we need a stronger sense of self, so that we dont feel the need to charm all the time. Bc when we dont get it, it's fatal for us.

Cat/Rabbit

Goat/Sheep

Pig/Boar

Cow/Ox

Rooster/Chicken

Same chinese animal, different name
They change it up from time to time. The first two (sheep and cat) are interchanged especially frequently

Now I'm fully lost Lol Rabbit and Sheep are interchanged? lol Rabbit and Sheep get along well, yes.

Somehow the logic doesn't translate well. Not trying to be ficitious

Ox and Cow = Bovine.
Lamb and Sheep = Hircine.
Pig and Boar = Porcine.
Rooster and Chicken = Delicious = Avine

OK. enough of the showing off English skills

Leporine are hares, aka rabbits. Now felines = cats have long ears. That's about the end of the similarities.

How did they confuse a rabbit for a cat? Perhaps its the propensity to procreate? lol

Rabbit and cat are interchanged

and sheep and goat are interchanged.

haha

and they named the cat a rabbit too because both animals have blank cold stares, expressionless faces usually, and are kind of detached/independent and not that affectionate, even though they still look like cute creatures . I think that describes rabbit people well. they always have those blank starey eyes. they look like cat/rabbit eyes.

Hahaha tendency to procreate.....lol good one, but rabbit people don't seem like the most sexual anyway :P

I've read that they don't have rabbits in Vietnam, so in their astrology, they used whatever little, smart, furry (fertile?) animal was roundabout to represent the sign. They chose the cat.

That's cool, cats were worshipped in ancient Egypt and all.

Hahaha says who? :P. you haven't met me yet!! This cat isn't neutered!!

And for an expressionless rabbit, I'm as animated as can be. Do they make exceptions for Italian rabbit/cats? Lol. When I talk, my hands go flying everywhere!!

Oh come on. I are the most delicious deep fried rabbit dish in Saigon. . They've got rabbits there, for sure. They probably cherish cats a whole lot more. And don't worry, I've never eaten kitty. . But I'm a lot more of a doggie person. Having said that, my frenchies look like cars anyway.

Here's the explanation:

What I read was wrong? I thought if it was in print, it was true!

quote:
"The Chinese word for rabbit is 'mao', which sounds like 'meo' in Vietnamese, where it means cat. As the sound of the word changed, so did its meaning," Papin said.

Makes sense.

As for Rabbits procreating..honestly we do tend to be prolific. Brangelina are both Rabbits. My parents were both Rabbits and had six children. I'm a Rabbit with five. They say Rabbits are "inscrutable" so maybe that's why people marvel at our clan size.

Now, my apologies RAS for the digression.

On topic:

My Pisces/Snake best friend is quite emotional, but it's not obvious. She comes across as so practical, and her voice and mannerisms aren't revealing. But the stories she likes to tell are mostly emotional...her life is kind of a soap opera. A very, very interesting one
