Interestingly we were both born to two "old souls".....without going into too much detail my father (also a Scorpio) and a Balsamic Moon, was incredibly mentally abusive and has left us both with deep emotional scars. My understanding of old souls is that they should have gained enough experience and insight in their previous incarnations to avoid any of that damaging EGO driven behaviour....?
I'm sorry you went through that I totally agree with what anno_lucis said though and think maybe it just has more to do with the culmination of some sort of important cycle/karma, but can't necessarily say how many incarnations someone has actually had "The balsamic is about endings. Finishing karma. Leaving behind the seeds of one's self for others. Yes, it's often depressing until you cross over to a certain shore. The more we can cross over to the other shore, then the more life feels like a free ride, because you could say that the Higher Self is now in control. But we must learn the lesson of letting go. If a balsamic moon person is looking outside of themselves for happiness, security or peace, then that balsamic person can expect a hearty serving of suffering. There is no permanence for a balsamic moon until they realize deep down in their souls that there is no permanence in this world. Then there may be more stability. To live a successful life as a balsamic moon, you've got to be a little idealistic. The balsamic moon naturally contains Pisces. This increases the pain and sorrow, but also the potential for spiritual surrender, which is the only way to live a balsamic life gracefully. Suffering happens. But eventually, if a balsamic person aligns with the Truth, this blackness can truly become golden. Few are those who enter in … So be careful with these last two lunar phases. If one's heart is set on nothing short of true liberation, these phases are like a best friend. If not, they are very challenging for the ego that hasn't changed its orientation towards spiritual matters" http://www.astrologyforthesoul.com/balsmc3qmons.html So the "spiritual rewards" come through suffering and learning to have a lack of attachments (even if by force). And like the 12th house there can be very low places to drown in-especially when the karma is negative, before reaching the higher points or becoming more spiritually evolved, and unfortunately some might choose to stay in the lower end of it and suck others in with them IP: Logged |

I was born under the new Cresent moon, it fits me. Plus my moon is 2° ahead of my Sun. Combust. As well it combusts Venus.(I have several stelliums involving these 3 and they are all very close) Despite all the research I locate, I 'feel' my moon & Venus strongly. (Often it's noted at saying the sun will burn off the powers of other planets). Maybe Cresent moons are more powerful than they seem, perceptions seem to indicate there is more power in full moons. I've just started reading The Luminaries by Liz Greene. With luck there is info in it on Cresents. IP: Logged |

My moon phase is the waxing crescent, which is interesting because my favorite moon phase is the crescent. I do relate to it, but some descriptions paint me as easy to influence. That part is wrong. I'm famous in my family for being one of the most stubborn people around. No one can get me to do anything half the time. Of course, my Sun in Taurus and Venus in Taurus might make me more difficult to push into doing things. I'm also dominated by "fixed" signs. As for being a new soul I'm not entirely sure that's true, but I'm also not able to use actual evidence to suggest otherwise. There are certain things I've been through that I wouldn't expect a "new" soul to experience. It's better not to go into the details or I'd never shut up. One of the descriptions I read: quote: A precocious seven-year-old tells you she wants to be a famous singer when she grows up. A few years down the road you are astounded to see her picture on the cover of a magazine. She has already realized her goal, and well before adulthood. Ambition, drive for achievement, and an urgent need to accomplish something important all characterize the mood of those born under the Waxing Crescent Moon phase. The Moon, which has just begun to increase in light, prompts this person to put nascent impulses felt in the New Moon phase into concrete form. This Moon phase is visionary, and are often very convincing about their ideas, regardless of whether or not the message is sound (often, it is). Success has a price, though, and this person may experience sporadic imbalance in the rest of their lives- in their relationships and health, for instance. But nothing worthwhile ever happens in life without embracing a bit of chaos now and then. For Waxing Crescents, balance may resemble a set of spinning plates perpetually in motion, but they’re at their happiest when pursuing a worthwhile mission.

Waxing gibbous.. oh yeah. Juuust barely there, restless, adrenaline junkie for sure. I thrive in the midst of chaos. But honestly, I noticed that I tend to feel the best at waxing half moon, or full moon. My moon phase puts me on edge. http://astrology.about.com/od/moonphases/qt/GibbousMoon.htm "You are focused on making finishing touches, in preparation for exposure to maximum light. You're someone who creates a buzz, and are at home when everything is rising to a crescendo. You'll want to watch out for the pitfalls of being an adrenalin junkie. You're most at home when deep in the throes of a satisfying project that has a natural culmination point on the horizon. "
