When I was growing up my parents were really strict with me, so I never tried drugs or did anything considered "bad." I've been experimenting a little though as of late, but my curiosity is growing. I was wondering what kind of transits would support this. Right now I have transit Neptune in my 10th house, and natally I have my 11H moon trine neptune. IP: Logged |

I don't really think it is triggered by transits, although major addictions I think would beNeptune squares to your personal planets and ASC, especially the ASC and chart ruler possibly but there could be a load of alternatives than drug use for these transits I doubt experimenting would be triggered by transit, that's like having a major transit everytime you go out for a drink or smoke (which technically are drugs) IP: Logged |

Hmm...I agree, but I don't. I get what you're saying but drinking is more of a social norm than illegal drug use. No? Also I do have Sun, Mercury, and Venus square Neptune, as well as Sun, Mercury, and Venus making minor aspects to Jupiter (semi-squares if I remember right.) Yes, there's other outlets. I'm aware of that but that's exactly why I wondered what sparked drug use even though it's inconsistent. IP: Logged |

Neptune transits in hard aspect to your sun, moon & other personal planets. Neptune transits can make you feel very sensitive & fragile, wanting you to escape from every day life because you feel like you can't & don't want to deal with real life no more. That's exactly how I feel right now, but I don't do drugs I escape every day life in other ways.IP: Logged |

I remember that I tried smoking weed when jupiter was over my natal neptune and uranus. I actually stopped once it passed. So it was for a couple of months I think?I have mars square neptune and uranus so I am somewhat open to trying new things but I think certain transits have to trigger it. I doubt I would just want to try ecstasy unless my mentally was in a different place. I have tried many drugs but I don't do any recreationally. Anyways I'm the person that eats living sashimi for fun so.. lol IP: Logged |

Wanted to "do" drugs (antidepressants that authority figures convinced me I had to take) when Pluto conjuncted my Uranus in Capricorn. Never did, because I discovered astrology instead.Pluto now sits on my Neptune in Capricorn. Not only do I not want to do drugs, I "see" how pointless they are now. It's a real eye opener. Neptune? It doesn't have to mean drugs, though. I have Neptune squaring my ASC now, and nope. If anything, I actually quit smoking, so.. But when Neptune squared my Mars and Pluto, I did take prescription drugs (antidepressants and neuroleptics) and I was basically "forced" to escape - psychologically I was numb and would space out easily. Then when Neptune opposed my Moon, I had to take meds again, but for health reasons. So, again, I was "forced" to take "drugs". I know you didn't mean drugs in that sense but that's been my experience!

Is tUranus close to your Aries planets? Or do you have any other Uranus transits going on?Neptune would be escapism or addictions, but the way you described it as "experimenting" Uranus is what comes to mind.. like breaking free of former rules and restrictions, not caring about social conventions, etc.. Maybe pluto too as others have said I went through a phase of experimenting when Uranus crossed over my MC and then squared my Mercury. I distinctly remember it having a lot to do with "rules" and expanding boundaries lol and that was before I knew anything about transits. tPluto was also conjunct my Mercury around the same time- and my mercury is unaspected so transits to it are especially strong IP: Logged |

Yes! Yes it is! tUranus is currently in my 11H. It's not close enough to be conjuncting my Sun, Mercury, or Venus, but it's nearest to my Sun in Aries. And thank you for noting I said "experimenting." That's really all it is. Granted, I enjoyed the experience but I'm too broke to keep up with an addict's lifestyle. I have a food addiction as is. Neptune is crossing over my MC, too. Good call, FireMoon! IP: Logged |

Thanks!! And yeah I totally get what you mean about experimenting.. Neptune is close to squaring my moon right now and I definitely am feeling the escapism and how that can be a slippery slope (I've always been totally against it but have recently started smoking cigarettes and I drink more than I should) but that is totally different than a Uranus transit of wanting to try new things out of curiosity or to expand boundaries or consciousness without ever becoming dependent on them (Uranus makes me think of the 6o's and the role drugs played in the social/hippie movement- "free your mind" or self, or society, etc.) enslave yourself in dependency would be Neptune lol Interesting too about the transits to the MC. It makes sense though since the MC represents our public image and lifestyle, and if your MC is Pisces (mine is too) drugs would definitely fit in with exploring all the things pisces represents IP: Logged |

Neptune squaring you Moon would definitely be hard. Do you find yourself feeling foggy, and if so - find that your addictions give you clarity? I know it's an ass backwards type of logic but I'm testing to see if I'm right. I have Moon trine Neptune and binge drink.IP: Logged |

How about TPluto conjuncting natal Neptune? That would be a bit more than just experimenting though, or at least for a longer period of time. IP: Logged |
