I was thinking about this since my Venus is in Gemini and my Sun is in Leo. They are 44 degrees apart. And venus and sun can only ever be 48 degrees apart so I was wondering if this is rare. IP: Logged |

Not in my experience, almost every chart I look at has it! It's almost weird.I read that it can point to a slight tension between being assertive vs. being compromising. IP: Logged |

Yeah I just went through all my charts and realized a lot of people I'm close to have it. I took screen shots on my phone of every birth chart i have saved in astro and then put all the charts into albums by sun sign. And now I can just slide to compare charts. So much easier!! IP: Logged |

Since Sun and Venus can never be further apart than 48 degrees, the probability that there will be a conjunction, semisextile or semisquare between both is much higher than for example with Moon and Mars. Same goes for Sun-Mercury-conjunctions btw.

I don't like this aspect. It implies - a need, a inner desire to be acknowledged/liked while being part of some group (school, friends, work, whatever...) - even a people pleaser to some extent... so - you do all kind of stuff to draw attention - to entertain others. In primary school was kinda shy - yet that didn't stop me from goofing around in such way that... i end-up a class clown (as a teacher put it). ------------------ [☼ ► ♊ ... ☾ ► ♈ ... Hmm, yea, I've got this too- Taurus Sun and Cancer Venus. I was hoping that some conversation around it was available, since I hardly know what it means either! I think that in Sue Tompkins' Aspects book she has some discussion about this (since she supposedly gives Semisquares and Sesquiquadrates equal due to the better known aspects). However, I have only found an excerpt from one of C.E.O. Carter's books: http://www.scribd.com/doc/2204192/Sun-Sign-House-Aspect "Sun semisquare Venus (Charles Carter) This inclines to make women and girls excitable, emotional, warm-hearted, but without much stability. It is, in my opinion, by no means inferior to the conjunction so far as actual artistic ability is concerned, and when it is close (say within 2º) there is usually talent for Venus pursuits, and particularly for music and dancing. It is not very favourable for marriage, although by itself it should not be taken as a sufficient indication of celibacy or an unfortunate alliance. The family may be numerous, and, in female charts, it seems strongly to incline to feminine offspring; there is usually trouble with one of them. It commonly bestows personal charm. Much the same is true of men. It is not good for compatibility in marriage; or, if this exists, there is usually some other cause of sorrow in the married life. Nevertheless, it is a secondary influence, and must be judged as such. It seems (in men) to indicate shyness and solitary habits, with considerable sensitiveness, even though this may in some instances be masked behind bravado and noise. In the charts of rulers, it seems to denote restless and disloyal subjects andunfortunate foreign adventures." I hope somebody has more information! ------------------ I see myself as a watery Taurus with some edge. Don't be shy! I already am. XD IP: Logged |
