I'm curious if there are certain synastry aspects that point to a relationship being long term but never resulting in marriage.

I personally think Pluto with no Saturn. It creates obsession that can keep it going for quite awhile but with no glue it will eventually fall apart.IP: Logged |

I would look for sextile aspects....sextiles like to keep the status quo. Saturn aspects are longevity but look to aspects to the 1st and 7th house ruler to see the willingness to form a relationship. I would think that aspects to jupiter (it rules legal matters) and then planets in the third quadrant (7,8,9,10)would make marriage necessary. IP: Logged |

My thought would also be saturn. For instance say you have have a ton of saturn aspects in synastry, but maybe only about 5 or so saturn aspects in the composite...couldn't that be a factor? You could also check the marriage asteroids and see where they fall in the synastry: Briede, Groom, Boda....maybe Union.IP: Logged |

Okay, I hope this works... I've studied a lot of astrology but I am clueless when it comes to the astroids and I'm not sure what I'm looking at here IP: Logged |

the jupiter opposite saturn show a cultural, ethnic or lifestyle differences. with your ascendants conjunct, you all are highly compatible. Oppositions are separative aspects meaning that you all come together to be apart somehow. I could see you wanting to make it "official" with your jupiter conjunct his midheaven. IP: Logged |

I don't really think you can tell. How could you? The dynamics of an LTR and a marriage would be very similar, and so would the aspects that indicate this type of relationship. Perhaps a strong Uranus, but even that's no fool-proof marker, because some marriages have a strong Uranus. IP: Logged |

As you can see, we are not spring chickens, also I'm pretty sure that my chart shows an aversion to marriage. I can honestly say that in all my years he is the first man I've ever truly wanted to marry... Not for the dress, not for the big fancy wedding but just so that I can share his name. Somehow it makes it complete. And, I refuse to pressure him... I keep hoping it will happen in time but - it's been FOREVER, lol. Anyhow, thank you for the input it's appreciated! IP: Logged |
