Don't you just love the earth signs? The dependability and reliability, always there to assist. Well-prepared. Earth signs make great friends with their ability to just be there. We have a tendency to take things seriously, but if someone isn't taking it seriously, then who is?

Earth is great.
It's even better when it's balanced with some other beautiful things like Air, Water and Fire.

I love earth signs. Having said that, all the earth sign girls I'm friends with have air moons (and all the air sign girls I am friends with have earth moons). Taurus women I can only handle in small doses, though, even with an air moon. We just don't speak the same language.

I don't like Virgos nor Caps. I have a Virgo asc and a Cap Moon. Not sure whether my Taurus Jupiter that sits smack on top of my MC and conj the SN is making me any happier...

You're a sun Cancer, aintcha? Maybe Virgo and Cap just rub you the wrong way because you are a water sign and they are just too intense or something...but not in a way you like. Plus you don't like your P Virgo planets, either, or Ascendant, so when you consider all these together, you don't really mesh with sun Virgo.

Capricorn moon opposite your sun might explain why you don't see eye to eye with Caps. You are pulled in two directions, might not agree with the Cappy side of you.

Hmmm....possibly true..I mean, I REALLY don't like Virgos....and I sometimes feel that ALL those planets I have in 11H (Cancer) are being dampened by my moon in 5H. It sucks. And yes, I feel as if Earthly energies just rub me every single wrong way I can be rubbed!

^^^Sometimes, I feel like that about my earth planets and my mom has an earth sign dominance in her chart and I can feel an intense dislike, not for her, but toward the cluster of planets she has in an earth sign (and the way it manifests in her personality at times) so I end up disliking the sign. Then, I realize it's just her particular emphasis on the sign that I dislike and other people with a planet or two in that sign I might like. Earth can be too dense at times...

Right now I crave the earth density though because I am getting aired and watered within an inch of my life. Too much of anything can be really awful

btw Charlie, I am talking about the weather, not astrology, lol. I should have clarified.

I like Air and Water astrologically. My least favorite is earth. I am not a materialist and most earth sign people are...fundamental ideological clashing there.

I don't get what people mean by earth signs being materialistic. I have tons of earth including a Second house moon and I don't think the word materialistic suits me at all.

You and I are so different from other earth suns, plus you are water dominant which takes away from the density of the earth element, like air does in my chart.

Many earth suns are into materialism, they are realists, not idealists, they love their possessions and their lives revolve around them, and status. I don't like my own sun sign all the time. There are exceptions and some Virgo suns are wonderful and I like them a lot. It's not like I want to say "so and so is a certain sign I know I won't like them and they must be into materialism because their sun is in Virgo or Taurus or Capricorn." Capricorn can be more about earning the money and saving it than spending it, I still consider this a form of materialism, though.

I want everyone to have a chance first. Libra energy can be very accepting of all the others, but not completely.

I don't either but maybe materialistic is too strong of a word as the first thing that comes to mind is an obsession to be focused on items and possessions. Then again some earthy people I know sure do value their stuff and money. I can't say I am fully immune from this but I'd like to think I am less materialistic than most earth suns.

And after reading one of the last posts, it might be because I don't have a dominant element...

I like earth signs. I have a Virgo Moon and it's easy for me to spot Virgos. I feel emotionally comfortable with them most of the time. I like talking with them. I like Capricorn Moons as well. I feel like Cap Suns and I only get along OK.

I don't do as well with Taurus oriented people. I've had rivalry issues with Taurus females before since I'm a Libra and it gets weirdly tense. I also have issues with Taurus Moons because they are very resistant to emotional change and my Scorpio planets are desperate for change and dynamism. I just sometimes push my one Taurus Moon friend a little too much without trying to into changes and toward growth and she has a hard time with that. It frustrates me!! Though I can respect it, it simply rubs me the wrong way.

Yeah, I can see earth houses being materialistic maybe, but earth signs...? Not so sure.

Charlie, what about someone who has sun in Virgo who went out of their way to be super nice to you, would you hate them if you found out they had sun in Virgo?

I like their practicality, especially with a bit of fire to warm them up. Nothing quite like the "scorched earth" experience

Joy, eh? Earth signs can be cool or not cool- just like anyone else. I have an Earth Sun, and it's my only personal planet that's in Earth, so I don't think I'm all that earthy. I think that I have a much more positive view of my Sun sign (considering how boring and gluttonous people like to say we are- which is rude and insulting) these days- so I can appreciate some Joy.

I agree with the sentiment that the concept of Materialism has become so inflated that people even use it to describe those who simply care about having material security and appreciate the benefit of being able to fulfill their needs as they arise. It's not inherently bad to appreciate that money gives you options.

Rather, Materialists see things only in terms of their physical and monetary value- everything has a price and the only things worth reverence have high prices. That's unfortunate and very different.

------------------
I see myself as a watery Taurus with some edge. Don't be shy! I already am.

I was thinking of someone with Cappy Sun, Aries Moon, Virgo Mars and Saggy Venus when I wrote that. It's the squares between the male/female energies in earth/fire signs that makes me think of him as "scorched earth".

I can't say that i've had any close relationships with any earth sun signs. The closest ones i have had though were air and fire signs with some earth or water.
I feel like things always fall flat with just earth sun signs and I. Like neither of us is willing to initiate things. Virgos seem to be nice to me at least. They tolerate me well. And i can't break through to any tauruses. Not that i've met very many my age either though. And cap i get along best with but its boring. Boring yet comfortable and relaxed. Nothing to ignite me enough though.

Sometimes, when I think of Leo, I picture a lion breathing fire from his mouth and nostrils.
