Not just a planet in a sign in a house. The aspect. Thank you!

Oh! Is this sense of extreme "freedom" or independence something that can be changed or will person always be like this deep down?

I'd like to think sun conjunct Uranus? I don't have the aspect so I dunno. Maybe a stellium involving sun/moon/Uranus/Pluto all conjunct one another. Might as well put Mars and Venus in there as well. This person might be completely autonomous in their life and wouldn't have it any other way. Could even live a spartan existence in a doomsday bunker high in the Rocky Mountains for all I know and curse righteously the day they ever had to pay a tax but pay them anyway because they do not want to lose their bunker.

You just described my fiancee. He has Sun, Venus, Merc, Uranus, Lilith in Libra. Moon, NN, Mars in Aqua. Saturn in Gemini. BUT he has a Pluto Singleton in Virgo and a Leo Ascendant and Sag Jupiter and Neptune so sometimes he is super sensitive and SUPER clingy! Hmmm...but at one point in time he seriously considered becoming a recluse in a mountain just to avoid humanity.

I feel like I need extreme freedom and I lack air in my chart... *shrug*

But I do have Sun & Venus in the 11th (Aqua house)... Moon & Mars in the 7th (Libra house).

I'll rattle off some possibilities that immediately come to mind:

Mars-Uranus, with Mars in 7th or 8th or Uranus in either house

Mars in Aquarius touching Venus and/or Sun, especially for a female

Venus-Uranus aspects occasionally, they highly depend on the other energies in the chart

Saturn-DES aspects or Saturn-DES ruler aspects could lead to aloneness or preferring to be one one's own vs. with another...

I do have Mars closely parallel Uranus - but not conjunct!

sun square uranus.
i have it in my chart and it is accurate.

"Your identity rides on your sense of personal freedom. It can be quite a challenge to get you to do what you don't want to do, simply because you see any attempts by others to push you in a certain direction as threatening to your sense of freedom. You are a very dynamic person who questions tradition and authority, yet, paradoxically, you can be quite set in your ways! Although a humanitarian in many ways, you can be a little brusque when it comes to sentimentality or what you perceive to be excessive attachment to the past or to tradition. You can have a lot of nervous energy and defensiveness. It can be difficult to hold a 9 to 5 job or to develop steady routines. You work best when you can manage your own schedule, and you work in spurts. When you are hit with creative inspiration, you are capable of tremendous effort. However, you can be quite temperamental, and it is very hard for you to pour your hearts and souls into something that you don't "feel" for at the moment. You don't like superficiality or pretense, which is an admirable trait. However, your disdain for pretense can be problematic in a world where people are expected to perform whether they are inspired or not! You should try your best to channel your high levels of intuition, inventiveness, and spiritedness into creative endeavors or important causes. You might find that you encounter much less resistance in day-to-day life this way."

Sun Aries Moon Pisces
Mars Pisces Venus Pisces
Mercury Aries Jupiter in Virgo
Saturn in Aquarius Pluto in Scorpio
Neptune and Uranus in Capricorn
Ascendant Libra

perhaps it manifests a bit differently depending on the personal planet involved, but imo it's a hard aspect with uranus from a personal planet. i have moon opp. uranus and for me the extreme 'independence' and 'freedom' comes in the form of not wanting close relationships (ie marriage, children) or finding close romantic relationships very demanding/difficult.

in the above example by CatMote - the sun square uranus - the 'freedom' strikes me more as personal freedom to say and do what you want/creativity, since the sun is self-expression. so perhaps this person would be ok w/close relationships because their moon isn't involved. and for me, i don't care too much about personal, vocal, or creative freedom because my sun isn't involved.

if this makes sense :-)
