FINALLY!!!! What a LOOOONNNNNNGGGGG eclipse season this was! One more week and we are done! The New Moon at 18 Gemini Saturday wraps up eclipse season!! Woo-hoo!

I started my Fire Island Summer house this week. The house I’ve rented mid-week the past six summers was under several feet water from the Great South Bay’s storm surge during Sandy Storm on the Full Moon in Taurus last November. The Ocean Dunes held. The Great South Bay attacked and flooded Ocean Beach instead!
I’ve always thought of the beach house as my cozy, hobbit hole where I retreat each summer to read, toast in the sun, walk on the beach and watch sunsets on the bay. Quiet, dark and solitary, a small beach cottage, it had very dark wood panels in all the rooms, dark wood beamed ceilings, dark wood floors, and deep forest green furniture. It felt like you were living inside of a tree, snuggled up on the comfy couch with a cup of tea and the music playing softly.
After the Sandy storm, I had heard that all the appliances, cloth furniture, floors, bathrooms, and walls in my beach house had to be replaced. The beach house was under a few feet of water. Everything, literally everything, needed to be scrubbed clean or replaced. As the ferry docked in Ocean Beach, I started to cry. The big “Welcome to Ocean Beach” sign which has greeted me countless times since I started going to Fire Island in 1980 was gone! The Police station and Ferry house gone! The bench I sat on to watch sunsets and wait for ferries to arrive gone! Destroyed and washed away in the storm! Quite a few houses looked like they will not be “coming back”. Many of the big trees on Fire Island blew over. Branches were down in the side yards. So many of the scrub bushes had salt burn and were either partially or completely dead. Fire Island’s residents decorate their front yards with fountains, ponds, fish, flowers, changing laser lights, flamingos, flags, statues, signs, driftwood, frogs and fairies. As I walked to my house, all the yard decorations along the path were gone ~ except for a stone pelican who was sitting alone near the koi pond ~ his friend the stone frog was gone. The trees looked so sad and battered ~ with broken limbs. Fire Island felt like a sea ravaged war zone. When I arrived at my house, half of the front garden was gone ~ washed away in the storm. The tree that held the wind chime was gone ~ as was the wind chime. I pushed opened the front door, afraid of what I was going to see….

Twelve years ago, my Beach house landlady Barbara and her partner of 15 years Jimmie bought the beach house together. Jimmie’s dream was to own a beach house on Fire Island. Barbara and Jimmie met on Fire Island and spent their summers out there as renters in share houses. They closed on the house in September and spent two nights in their new beach house. Jimmie died, quite unexpectedly, that winter, his lifelong dream realized. Barbara now owned a beach house but had no Jimmie. When you buy a house on Fire Island, you get all the furnishings. No roads or cars on the island means everything comes over by ferry boat with the associated freight costs.
Now, twelve years later, with Jupiter in his fall again, Sandy the Storm took the contents of the beach house away like it took Jimmie away the previous Jupiter in Gemini. The garden and flowers out front were washed away. All winter and spring, Barbara went out to the house every weekend to repair and replace. She kept saying “I can’t wait until you see what I’ve done to the house!”
The house was a visual, actual metaphor for the Finger of God/Goddess we’ve each been working with all winter. The outside of the house looks just the same ~ except for the missing garden which washed away. The inside of the house is completely, completely, completely different! It is WHITE! It is light! It is not a dark hobbit hole, tree stump inside anymore! The very dark wood wall panels were replaced with soft pickled white kind of rosy pink wood panels. Two new deep burgundy velvet couches replaced the deep forest green couches. Dark mahogany floors, new tiles in the kitchen and baths, a new powder room added where the old hot water heater used to live, all new appliances, the other bathrooms retiled, a new (and kind of scary) washing machine that talks to you and beeps a lot as it measures what kind of load you put into it, and a gas stove instead of the old cranky electric geezer whose burners were erratic. Only the art on the walls and the serving platters were the same! They were above the water line!
On Friday afternoon, Barbara, a Sagittarian, and I sat and talked about all the many changes she had made and how beautiful and fresh her house felt. I said the house felt like “her” now ~ she’s a tiny, fast moving, red- headed spitfire. She laughed and said “That is what everyone is saying to me… that it is MY taste now, and somehow MORE my house now.” We talked about her house as a metaphor for all the other changes taking place in her life. How AS she was working on the house over the winter and spring, it had inspired her to look at all the other areas of her life to see what else she needed to change.
We each approach a new cycle in a few weeks as Jupiter enters his exaltation in Cancer on June 25th. Jupiter in his MOST abundant, highly fertile and creative sign will form a three month Grand Trine with Saturn and Neptune. Saturn in Scorpio asks us to look at our structures that have been changing and evolving over the winter/spring. It is time to figure out what we want to commit to and go deeper in relationship with. Neptune in Pisces started a new 14 year journey last year in HIS favorite sign. Neptune asks us what our dreams are for the next major 14 year phase of our life.
So as the finishing touches are put on my summer house, Jupiter gets us ready to move into our next big chapter on June 25th. Barbara said some of the people on Fire Island collected their insurance money and walked away from their houses. Others were cleaning, repairing and rebuilding a new nest as she had. And others were still sitting, flooded out of their homes, waiting, as the summer approaches.
So we each have about three to four weeks to wrap up our old life and finish those chapters before our lives shift dramatically into Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn turns direct forming a huge outer planet emotional, evocative and progressive grand water trine with Neptune. Our summer ahead promises amazing connections, creation energy and the planting of brand new gardens in each of our lives. The renovations and evolution of our insides are completed over the next few weeks. Like Barbara’s Fire Island house, the work you’ve done over the winter and spring comes to a completion between now and June 25th. And while your OUTSIDES might look the same like my summer house, your INSIDES are forever changed.

Our week ahead features two “starter” grand trines in Water. Both Mercury and Venus form starter grand trines with Saturn and Neptune this week on Monday and Friday respectively. Both Mercury and Venus are out of bounds… make sure to TALK and DESIRE big… out of your normal comfort zone…. OUT OF BOUNDS! Allow Mercury and Venus to hit home runs, out of the park, over the fence and out of bounds of what you normally do. Allow the two planets who rule communication and desire to express themselves. Mercury and Venus are not bound by the Sun or our ego states until mid-June. Give them permission to dream big…and don’t listen to folks who say no, you can’t. With their trines to Saturn and Neptune, we get a foreshadowing of the grand trine in water story of the upcoming summer.
The four planets out of bounds means folks will not be in the mood to follow the rules. Mercury, Venus, Vesta and Ceres are out of Bounds. Out of bounds planets have qualities that the regular planets don’t have because they don’t follow the Sun’s path. Out of bounds planets don’t follow the Sun’s rules. Out of bounds planets can be arbitrary and capricious as well as brilliant and gifted. They want to break out of their social training and expectations to go down a different road. They encourage us to go about stretching our limits.
When planets are out of bounds in the sky, we each get to experience that out of bounds energy as our own. We all have out of bounds Mercury, Venus, Vesta and Ceres right now. Our energies in the areas of how we think, communicate, desire, live and nurture is going to go a bit off road, a bit out of bounds, and become a bit unpredictable. Don’t worry if you find yourself challenging your previous choices or views on matters. Push yourself to see the world in a different way and approach it with a paradigm shift. Imagine your outsides like my beach house while your insides have completely transformed. Every time you come into your changed insides, you have an opportunity to change how you see the world when you go back out into the world. Explore it and push your own boundaries.
Neptune stations to go Retrograde so we deal with a “stopped” Neptune in Pisces. Neptune revises, changes and reactivates our dreams which started on or around February 14, 2013 as he goes back to that degree between now and November. When Neptune stops, we have all sorts of confusion, churning emotions and shifting feelings… a kind of cosmic riptide! Think what it is like when you are in a boat and the tide “shifts” direction on the ocean or in an bay. It is a profound shift of the direction of the current. Stations of Neptune can feel a bit like a riptide or a whirlpool you are captured in. This one is bigger than most stations as there will be a trine with Saturn as well as Mercury, Venus and the Moon in Cancer. Neptune’s going to be shifting a lot of dreams this week!
Friday is going to be a very weird day… 9 swirling and fairly major aspects including Neptune’s station, arguments from Mercury and Mars and a Grand trine in Water with out of bounds Venus in Cancer to Saturn and stationing Neptune. Just hang onto the boat that day. Try not to fall out of the boat. Tighten your life jacket. No decisions. Ride the current and turbulence. Let go. Let go. Let go.
There is a New Moon at 18 Gemini on Saturday which starts a new 2 ½ year process of connections, communications and stories about ideas, siblings and writing in the house where 18 Gemini falls in your chart. Commentary: The ‘Large Archaic Volume Reveals a Traditional Wisdom’. It is in a ‘Museum’ where it is safe and secure, and available to all who pass by and appreciate it. ‘Traditional Wisdom’ is nowadays often taken for granted or ignored. Monday Moon’s day June 3, 2013 Moon in Aries is frisky and full of spit and Vinegar with very lovely closing aspects of a sextile to Jupiter. What is it about Aries Moons that make us just feel like dancing, jousting, fighting or having sex. So much PASSION! Last night dreams were turbulent but informative. Mercury forms a grand trine with Saturn and Neptune ~ speak or feel emotionally what you deeply, deeply want. Mercury is out of bounds so you might find you are a bit shaper tongued than usual ~ he is answering to Moon in Aries after all… So if you told someone to stop it, just stop it over the past two days you are right in sync with the heavens. And if you picked a little fight just because you could and you felt like it… well you were also in sync with the heavens. Set those boundaries if you need to. Health matters need to be addressed sooner rather than later. Don’t delay or dawdle ~ there really is something going on. Adjustments take place in your tribe of choice… Cupido is active. No, they might not be what you would choose for yourself or as your tribe of people but they are right there so figure out how to work with their energy even as you plot your escape…. Listen to Mercury whisper in your ear and suggest GREAT plans that feel way out of reach but which are actually closer than you think.
Mars Day Tuesday June 4, 2013 finds Moon in Taurus as of noon, with a productive closing aspect of a power trine to Pluto… That is going to make both Venus and Mercury out of bounds in Cancer (answering to Taurus Moon) really feel their oats. Good or bad, you can push the limits now. You are working with a power trine to Pluto. If negotiating deals, ask for extra stuff. If signing contracts, push for a little bit more. They want to do the deal too… ask and it will probably happen. Take advantage of the flow. Stress fill dreams can seem to swirl tonight and early in the morning ~ its about leaving behind your limitations. My assistant always dreams she is losing her teeth on nights like this. Your structures are definitely changing. Feel free to argue a bit with your dreams… or ask them what they are trying to tell you! Talk to them! Venus, out of bounds, is a bit stressed by her early morning aspects with the Nodes of Fate ~ take action to make yourself feel better. Mercury’s day Wednesday June 5, 2013 finds Moon void in Taurus for the next two days. While a lovely kick back and exalted Moon in Taurus, this is a great time for beauty projects, dreams about how you want to change your looks, life, make overs and things that nurture your being and soul. Spa day! Take time to dream for Venus’ upcoming grand trine with Saturn and Neptune on Friday. Write down the plans so you have a record of what you want to pay attention to. A great day for grounding things or detoxing too. You can have a wicked fight with your mother or the nurturing principle bright and early in the morning. Vesta clears a big patch of the household or office environment today as she works with the Nodes of Fate… you have a vision, start to really push for it to take place. Health matters can flare up… have you taken care of it yet? Venus struggles at the end of the day with partner’s detachment and seeming inability to commit. Is it any different than it has ever been? If they STILL can’t commit after all you’ve been through, the time is right to gently untie the boat and sail away. No drama. No scenes. You’ve done gone and talked about this over and over and over. You know what you want to do. So go ahead and do it. Push for your greater evolution and growth. Partner with yourself to get what you deeply want, desire and deserve.
Jupiter’s day Thursday June 6, 2013 Moon is still void in Taurus. Neptune’s station is really pushing away at our boundaries, swirling, asking us to shift and change. Let go and ride the current. You are NOT supposed to struggle against the rip tide, you are supposed to flow with it and wait for it to abate (which it will) and then swim for shore. Mid-day you can be a bit stressed about having to choose between two divergent paths. If you don’t like either of them, suggest a third option. You are in the mood to shift the patterns…. Go for it…
Venus’ day Friday June 7, 2013 Moon in Gemini has a lovely closing aspect of a conjunction to Jupiter telling us we haven’t seen anything yet! Allow the possibilities to expand and explore. I have no idea what to say about today… so much is going on and it can be hard to navigate but here goes. Neptune’s station takes up the bulk of the energy as he pauses and parks at 5 Pisces 22… He’ll turn retrograde and start to move backwards over the next few days but while is he stopped it can feel as if we are 1) flying over the water in a hover craft or 2) trapped and struggling for our life in a riptide or a whirlpool or 3) completely fogged out without a clue as to what is going on or 4) exceptionally emotional ~ good or bad emotions ~ and over the top or 5) riding the rapids or surfing the waves like a seasoned champ. WE can actually be ALL those things at various times during the day. Ego needs are slammed or hammered during dreams in the night as Sun argues with Destiny about what is possible versus probable. Until Man flew a plane, no one thought it was possible. Until people sailed the oceans or climbed Mount Everest or broke the four minute mile, it wasn’t possible. And then, suddenly, it WAS possible. Believe in the possible in the situation before you. Adjust your expectations to expect the possible. Venus forms a grand trine to stationing Neptune and Saturn… allow for her out of bounds nature to take your desires past the bounds where they usually live and hang out. Mercury’s opposition to Pluto means you can get into a might nasty fight with someone where the words are deeply and emotionally hurtful. Be careful what you say today. People are NOT hearing things properly because of what is going on above our heads. So much potential for miscommunication and chaos. Mars links up with Pallas to start a new cycle that ends on December 14, 2016 ~ time to see various versions of the truth… Pallas notices patterns. Mars tries to USE the patterns to his advantage. Gemini can be fast and loose with the truth ~ Mercury is out of bounds in Cancer, answering to Gemini Moon ~ so be careful in signing contracts or negotiating deals today…. Things are not what they seem. Wait till next week if you can when things are clearer to sign deals. Mars and Pallas finishes their square with Neptune so folks are a bit irritated and ****** off over seemingly needless delays, behaviors that have been that way for YEARS as well as inconsequential things. Allow space and time for things to settle and clear. If it is your dream and you are surfing on it just fine, then no worries. Proceed to surf away…
Saturn’s day Saturday June 8, 2013 finds Moon in Gemini making a lovely new Moon at 18 Gemini around lunch time. Mars and Saturn have you up all night looking at patterns that were right before your nose but that you never saw before. Will you take action on them? Woundedness and health matters can seem to get worse suddenly. Err on the side of caution and GO TO THE DOCTOR! Mercury’s square to Uranus is full of unexpected problems that have no solid ground. Chaos around words ~ your intentions versus what they actually heard you say. Remember most folks don’t listen particularly well ~ especially when they are preoccupied or under the fog of Neptune ~ both of which are happening right now. Ask them what they heard. See where your words went off and astray from what they heard you say! Allow yourself to push for what you want… Venus joins with Kronos so you are committing to a serious situation here. ~ encourage yourself to commit to what you actually want.
Sun’s Day Sunday June 9, 2013 finds Moon in Gemini, void in the morning and entering Cancer in the afternoon with good connecting closing aspects. Black Moon Lillith enters Cancer making us focus on how nurturing can go wrong even if we have the best intentions. Sun’s cooperative aspect to Juno encourages all kinds of partnerships and connections that foster relationships between people. Mercury and Venus connect this evening by declination bringing their two versions of information together. Encourage sharing and conversation about dreams and ideals with those you love and care for. Today is a good day to emotionally process feelings of love and caring. Moon in Cancer forms a third grand trine this week with Neptune and Saturn ~ preparing us emotionally for the work we will be doing this summer. Get a good night’s sleep as next week there will be some emotional endings.

If you didn’t sign it yet, please consider joining your voice and adding your signature to the chorus of people asking for a change in the law. The bill wasn’t voted on in May but we still have June until the legislature adjourns for the summer.
For the past few years, I’ve been having Pluto transit my natal Mars in my 11th house of other people’s children. As a result, I’ve been meeting quite a few people who work to prevent Sex and Child trafficking ~ a very Pluto/ Mars kind of business ~ as well as a number of people, both men and women, who were trafficked as children, teenagers or adults.
New York State has 300,000 children trafficked through it every year. We have international borders and are a major point of entry into the United States. As the New Moon in Taurus eclipse two weeks ago pointed out, children were kidnapped and held hostage in Cleveland, just a few miles from where they lived, for over 9 years. It can and does happen here. It is amazing to me how MUCH it happens!
There is legislation being voted on next week in the New York State Legislature, the Trafficking Victims Protection Justice Act

The Trafficking Victims Protection and Justice Act would toughen penalties for traffickers and patrons, eliminate the ability for a victim of human trafficking to be prosecuted as a prostitute and eliminate the identifying term “prostitute” from the state’s penal law and replace it with the phrase “person for prostitution.”
The Act also raises the penalty for trafficking people for labor exploitation to a class B felony, the same penalty as trafficking for sexual exploitation. The legislation also holds chauffeurs accountable if they are found to have provided transportation for human traffickers.
The bill also closes the loophole in state law which currently provides a weaker punishment for those convicted of buying sex from a minor. Under the new statute, persons convicted would receive the same punishment as those who rape a child of the same age.
And if you live in another state, write to your representatives to ask what they are doing about sex trafficking . Things change when we say “THAT has to change!”
