How does this aspect work? Does it mean they attract argumentative or women they find hard to get along with?

Yes, definitely.
I've seen it happen.

For men - usually some major disagreements with women in their lives, or the inability to get what they want vs what they "need". Like they get along with a woman but aren't attracted to her or vice versa (like with the square). And the women in their lives can often be overbearing or dominant (so the men can seem submissive or passive, in comparison).

In women, it can make them too compliant & compromising on the one hand, and too dominant on the other, going from one extreme to the other. There's usually a sense of sacrifice in close relationships - like they can get one thing at a time - for example, emotional security but no passion/romance, or passion but no commitment/security, etc.

I've noticed most people with that aspect are quite restless in personal relationships and can't quite seem to be satisfied (that's why many astrologers consider Moon/Venus hard aspects potential indicators of infidelity, and I can attest to that from personal experience).

This person was really aggressive (granted moon is in Leo, Venus in Aquarius) but I saw the opposition and thought it was funny. I'm a very argumentative person even though I tame it somewhat around others. What's the difference between the square and the opposition? The same affect but to different degrees?

i definitely feel torn at times, like as you said if i'm comfortable physically then there's no mental attraction, if i'm comfortable in everyway with someone then i love them like a friend not like a lover....it's very frustraiting at times.

moon opp venus and ascendant.

I've got the square and it's alleviated by other aspects. So I don't know. one thing at a time? Maybe so, but im too proud to spread when I'm not attracted so it doesn't ruin my life too much, not much reason for frustration.

As long as this aspect doesn't mean sleeping with someone who doesn't inspire desire, I can live with it I suppose

For me this aspect is tough because I cant ever seem to please everyone at once. Either I am being accused of "always putting everyone else first" and not honouring my own needs ..... Or "being selfish and self indulgent" and not paying enough attention to those who depend on me to do stuff for them. Its a recipe for a major guilt trip, this aspect! When I go for what I want, I have people wanting me to feel bad about neglecting them, and when I give up what I truly desire for the sake of others I am criticized for being a spineless pushover. It is hard to find the balance because I am a softy and it matters because I truly want people to like me and be able to depend on me, but I also want to enjoy certain things which are pleasurable to me in a guilt free fashion. I am not aggressive at all, but I can see why some people with this aspect could become that way through frustration about the perception that someone is frowning upon them, no matter how hard they try.

Interesting mix of replies so far... but how would this aspect affect one's relationship with women? No matter who had it?

I have issues with women that are submissive. Most my female friends are and have been fire signs and very......"forward".

I have Cap Moon in 5H and Cancer Venus in 11H.

ok, well, just remembered a story. my university teacher who seemed very much into me had this, he was in his bloody 50s but would be seen with young girls in different parts of the city, not married, no children, nothing.

when he tried to ask me out, was really lame, he kept saying really lame things freaking me out. wanted to take me to a library cafe with plastic chairs.

i think he was extremely insecure. also said certain things that sounded as if he had never found what he was looking for, romantically. "life is disappointing", his own words.

Taineberry I've noticed the exact same thing in people with the opposition.

Women with that aspect often project their own flaws on other women, though not always. I think it's a bit of a love/hate dynamic.

Men attract women who can only appeal to one side at a time.. either nurturing and safe or exciting and passionate (or at least that's what it looks like in their minds).

This is all generalisations, but that's how it mainly works.

People can always consciously work on the tensions in their chart, awareness is key, here.
