Hello again

Ok....so I keep hearing about how important the fifth house ruler and 7th house ruler is when making love predictions (some will even include the AC, the eighth house or ninth).

So my first question is how do you determine the house ruler.

For example; my DC is at 19 degrees Taurus. Does this make Venus my house ruler? When in fact gemini takes up more of my seventh house, which would than be Mercury. Or is it the traditional house ruler? Venus again for Libra? Or is it the planet that falls in your seventh house?....ha

I'm just going to assume that in my case its Venus ruler of Taurus. Unless I hear otherwise (?).

As for my 2nd question; once you know your house ruler. What exactly should you be looking at when making predictions. Do you look at the house rulers placement in the natal chart? In my case Venus in 6th house. Or do you look at transiting Venus and see where it falls.

Lastly if your looking at progression charts. Do you then look at the new house rulers or stick to the natal house rulers?

Thanks for anyone's help that can clarify all this for me. Much appreciated!!

Yes. The house ruler is the planet that is associated with the sign on the house cusp (Aries - Mars, Taurus - Venus, etc).
You only take into account the CUSP of the house, so even if there's some Gemini in your 7th house, it still starts with Taurus, so it's ruled by Venus and not Mercury (which rules your 8th house, probably).

Yes. Look at Venus and the aspects it makes to know more about your (potential) romantic partner and the relationship pattern most likely to play out in your life. In your case - Venus is in the 6th, which could point to meeting your partner at work, working with your partner, your partner having health problems, your relationship being centered around health/work, etc.

Personally I always use natal house rulers first, but you can look at both.

THANK YOU that was very very helpful Doux Rêve!!

Now if I may ask...

If your transit fifth house ruler overlaps your 7th house. Or vice versa. What outcomes might you expect. Is this a rare or pretty common occurance?

You're welcome, eyes

Hm, I think if the ruler of the 5th enters the 7th house, but doesn't touch anything (makes no aspects), it may not lead to anything except for a change in priorities - you may think of dating / romance in more serious terms, and how they can or should lead to a serious, committed relationship.

If the planet enters the 7th house and makes an exact aspect to a planet or is touched by transit, it could indicate a potential new love. Or it can mean that your existing relationships will be more fun, playful, and creative.
