I don't know if this is the correct term for it, but this is how I coin it.This thread is inspired by the neptune retrograde topic and here are my aspects: transit neptune conjunct natal venus in pisces 3rd house square natal neptune in 1st house. Is this like a total state of disillusion or what? Sigh..
Can someone explain?

So you have Venus square Neptune natally?
If tNeptune is conjuncting your Venus and squaring your own Neptune, it may indicate a severe case of "rose-coloured glasses" when it comes to romance.
You may meet someone and fall deeply in love, a sort of "soul mate" feeling.
On the one hand, it could lead to beautiful feelings, romantic longings, idealised vision of things/people (or just one person in particular) but on the other hand it can easily lead you into disappointment and despair when the beauty turns out to be quite elusive.

You can be more creative and artistic at this time, so working on that can be very worthwile.

yes I have venus square pluto natally. In pisces-ruled by neptune. I figured since it is in the third house that maybe I wouldn't necessarily have blinders on when it comes to love. There is this man that I like and I can't seem to get him out of my mind. So I should be cautious about who I get involved with?

Does anyone with this type of aspect ever really find the "love of their life" or is it wishful thinking most of the time? What about neptune being in retrograde how does that factor in?

Yes, try your best to see the situation you're in clearly. It's probably gonna be tricky, so you may want to tell about it to a trusted friend, for example, so they can give you an objective opinion.

Neptune turning retrograde could mean a time when you re-evaluate your situation (actually by starting this thread, it already shows you're questioning things). You may think more deeply about your love life right now, and take a more internal approach to things related to Venus (finances, romance, etc).

I will definitely be more selective with who I let into my life. Hopefully something good comes out of the neptune transit in my chart.
