I would assume that fire and water moons are more emotionally expressive than Air and Earth moons.

What would a fire or water moon do to an Earth or Air sun? What would an air or earth moon do to a Fire sign?

What about a water sun with an earth moon?

As a Capricorn sun, I'm often embarrassed by Scorpio moons emotional displays.

I have an earth sun/earth moon and air Mercury and have a difficult time seeing myself clearly. For example, I feel like I express my emotions more than the average human. Maybe I don't and only think I do? Or, I could just be stuck in the past. I used to sob hysterically. I no longer do that, so now it's like I don't really express them much, yet, I am still stuck in that time when I did that so I tell people I go overboard when I no longer do.

Sometimes, I get vexed and want to channel it into creative writing rather than just freaking out.

Maybe it's something to do with Neptune too, since it directly opposes the actions of the moon.

Confused now? Neptune is good at that, too.

Sun is Air Moon in Water for me personally it seems contradictory but integration is key. For me it has given me balance of mind and heart. I am very sensitive and but I do allow my emotions to over take me entirely. Most of the the time my head and heart can talk to each other. It is like having the best of both worlds.

I know a few say Water Suns with Fire Moons makes them more playful and not always too caught up in emotional stuff. Like they know when and where things should be taken with a light heart. But have depth and understanding where it is required.

SSS, what you said resonated so much with me. (HUGS)

I have a fire sun, water moon.Fire mercury. As you know I have so many saturn conjunctions,1 opp,and 3 squares from saturn. All my personal planets are touched by saturn EXCEPT the moon.I used to think that my actions were enough to convey my feelings or emotions but somehow they always end up being mistaken and I used to get SO upset that people would think the worst of me..

Now it doesn't affect me the same way as it used to. Or I'll say I don't express it as much as I used to. Or may be I wasn't really expressing it,verbally I mean.

Fire sun, Air moon, in opposite signs...extra contradictory. But I know myself better right now so I can blend the energies more easily.

I think my Air moon just makes me more rational and reasonable (with emotions), but I still have the passion and fire of my sun. My attitude is passionate and fiery (depends on the situation), my mind and emotions rational and reasonable.

Water sun, moon, mars and pluto. 3 of my planets are in earth signs and one each for fire and air. You can imagine me sitting on a dark corner of my house, silently bawling my eyes out lol

All the water in my chart makes me highly emotional and sensitive. However, I don't blow up that easily. I tend to take on all the stress myself until the barrel of emotions overflow. When that happens, emotionally expressive would be an understatement

Pisces Sun, Aqua Moon.

I can be quite empathetic but often react coolly on the fly.

There are both benefits and detriments to this fact.

I know it might appear like I posted on the wrong thread. I think I have an honorary water moon because it's in house eight and exactly opposed to Neptune, so I thought I would share my experience.

Virgo sun 4th
Leo moon 1st

I think my sun and moon work together in a good way although they contradict in a sense. While my sun wants to just be reserved/really intellectual, my moon helps me be more playful and loosen me up a bit in my expression. When my leo moon wants to be overly playful and outgoing, my virgo sun keeps it in check and tones it down.

I also have an air mercury/venus (in libra)

Air Sun / Air Moon - just what you'd think. I hate my emotions, for me they are a sign of weakness. Anything that isn't related to facts or logic, seems foolish and immature. Being controlled or overwhelmed by feelings seems like vulnerability.

I don't have a temper but when I'm in crisis, anger is the only emotion people see. I am efficient and controlled... at the first sign of my own sadness, or any crack in my shell, I become furious.

Not proud to say it, but the only time I let myself "feel" or admit emotions is when I drink too much. Bad news.

So basically with an air sign we have someone who feels the emotions but doesn't like the idea of having them? I have some air planets and an air dominant chart and I can relate to that! I envy those calm, cool, collected types that never seem to show their emotions and I seem to be surrounded by them which makes me look more like an emotionally unstable basket case so that I feel even worse.

My moon is in earth, but it is less than three degrees away from airy Gemini and it's in a watery house afflicted by Neptune. Verrrrry complicated!

I'm sensitive in some respects and sometimes I boil inside but I'm not very expressive. I'm kind of selective about it. Generally, I'm more comfortable with showing positive emotions and it's easier for me. Extreme emotions sooner or later tend to overwhelm me to the point I need to cry but first I make sure no one will see me or hear me. I hate crying in someone's presence but I guess I could handle it better if it was someone I'd be very close with. I also avoid expressing my suffering verbally, at least in real life. Oh, and at the initial stage of romance I would totally suck. I would never reveal my feelings first and that's just the tip of the mountain.

Capricorn sun and Libra moon here.

Oh I thrive on it! I was shocked at first to find that I had a Sag moon (I am Virgo sun) but the influences really bring out the best in each other.

I really like the explanation offered by astrodienst. it describes me quite accurately:

"You are happiest when tending to chores that demand meticulous attention to detail. The active Sagittarian influence on your personality inclines you to hurry around, doing many different jobs.
It is often difficult for you to reconcile your love of freedom and your liberal spirit with the caution and orderliness of your inner self.
Your practicality and innate curiosity coupled with the philosophic bent of Sagittarius, creates the potential for profound scholarship. You are a fact collector. Your quest for knowledge and love of exploration makes you fond of travel. Your innate fastidiousness makes you charmingly modest in love. Sexually, you are inquisitive, but your ultra-caution prevents you from partaking of the sheer joy of love, life, and utter freedom. The key to a more harmonious self lies in striking a balance with your tendency to analyze everything. One with your solar and lunar positions can achieve happiness by channeling your diverse interests and enthusiasm into service for others."

This part used to affect me but not any longer: "but your ultra-caution prevents you from partaking of the sheer joy of love, life, and utter freedom"

Moon in the twelfth is bad at expressing emotions.

My partner is Cap sun Gemini moon. I love him to pieces but he struggles so much with expressing emotions.

The longer we're together, the more I just "feel" it, so he doesn't really have to say anything.

Yay we're sun/moon combo buddies
I'm not really sure how my scorpio moon affects me. But I don't think it makes me more tender. And i'm pretty bad at explaining how i feel. I'm a lot awkward with feelings :P And as for emotional displays i realised that yea i think that is something that it does to me i guess. I'm a crybaby, over anything. I cry when im angry and that makes me even more angry! Anger is like my first reaction to things emotion-wise. And i can't control that I cry sometimes especially in certain situations when i least want that.

I had an air sun/air moon friend and she wasn't good with expressing her own emotions. Like she was very privat but, she was someone i could cry to or share my emotions with. She was tender.

That's my experience, for sure.

I laugh when I hear people say aquas are "unemotional" or gems are "shallow" b/c that would imply the internal feelings don't EXIST. Incorrect - the internal emotions exist but aren't communicated or displayed.

Pisces and Aries I know tend to be right up in your face w their emotions & breakdowns... even the scorpios I know, with their tempers and passion. I'm jealous that they can just put it out there & let the world see, for me that is so revealing - I'd rather go around naked

Water Sun
Earth Moon

- It's pretty good, quite balanced.

I think the worst is to have them both in the same element or in completely different elements - you're either "too much" of something or completely crazy cause of internal conflicts (although many here seem to find a balance, which is cool).
