I just read a dear Knowflakes post in Sweet Peas about her mother dying early. The daughter had Moon in the 8th. What is your experience with Moon in the 8th? Would Sun in the 8th be the father dying early?

Thank you so much!

Thanks Friend!
This house can cause late maturation when the Sun is in it. Does this fit you? xx

Faith Sorry you had to go through all that.

Ami,

Usually for the "absence" factor, the 12th house needs to be considered.

I have a friend who has Sun in 12th and her biological father left her and her mother when she was a baby.

I also know two people who have Moon in 12th and the mother wasn't very present, either.

It doesn't have to be literal - parents may very well be alive, but they're just not that involved in the child's life. Or if they are, they're not emotionally there for them and may make their child insecure and fearful (because the child feels abandoned, unprotected).

Thank you, Doux. I knew about Sun in the 12th with the absent father. I was just wondering if Sun in the 8th was that, as well. Thanks for all your help xx

I have some questions, Doux or anyone. The Moon is the 8th for a woman's chart is some loss with the mother. Is it the same interpretation for a man?

Is Moon in the 12th interpreted differently for a man and a woman?

Thanks xx

If I use whole signs my Sun/Merc fall into 8th house rule. I also have Pluto in 4H.

Sun in 8th CAN indicate an early loss of father or even husband.
Mercury in 8th can indicate early loss of a relative.
Pluto in the 4th can be the early loss of a parent or guardian figure..

I lost my father at 17.

I have Sun in the 8th and I'm 22 now my father is still alive. I have gone through the deaths of my two grandmothers but it was pretty normal since they were old, it was something expected, yet very sad of course.

My mother lost her father when she was 15, and she has Sun in the 11th so I believe that these are just coincidences.

Sun, Mercury, Venus in the 8th house, Scorpio ascendant.

I lost my dad 2 years ago. He died 9 days before his 50th birthday from diabetes keto acidosis and heart disease. I was 30 at the time. My father had sun in the 8th house and scorpio ascendant and his dad died on New Years Day. My dad was sitting on his lap when his father died from a heart attack. He was three years old at the time.

My boyfriend has sun in the 8th and pluto in the 4th. His dad is still alive although he left them 14 years ago in order to work in another country. My boyfriend was 9 years old when his father left and, as the eldest son, has been the 'head of the family' ever since.

My Sun is in 7th house, square Pluto: my Father died early, even if there was nothing from 8th house.

Something interesting was:

When my father died, my SR Sun was in the 5th house with one square. 5th house is natural house of the Sun.

In SR, when my mother died, the Moon was in 12th house with one square. My Natal Moon is in Pisces (12th sign).

Ami Anne, sorry that I jumped in with a bit different explanation. You know, what is my Research!

WL, Bobbie
