What is this like? Obviously it's a good aspect but if you have a good aspect both ways, how would that improve or hinder the relationship?

I've never had it, but I guess it feels very comfy and natural.
Like you just get each other and don't find much to argue about.

Could be too "calm" though.
If you're naturally into tension and arguments, you may find it either very soothing or very boring.

Yeah I like arguing :/ We do argue or debate but I think he gets more agitated by it than I do, even though he's got Moon in Sag and Venus in Aquarius. Perhaps it just lends to reading the other person a lot better than most?

Yes, that could be true, as well.
Personally, I don't find Sun/Moon contacts as comfortable as Sun/Sun or Moon/Moon aspects, but they're supposed to be big in personal relationships.
I think hard aspects are more powerful when it comes to attraction, even though they can be challenging.

Debate would be a Mercury/Mars/Jupiter thing.

Oh, duh! You made me realize his Mercury and Moon both in Sag oppose my Mars in Gemini. Even though my Sun, Mercury and Venus are in Aries I still find his ideas stupid.
