Hi,
This is my first post outside the beginner's section, so sorry if it's a little dense.

I'm trying to get my head around planetary aspects (trines and conjuncts, specifically). When I look at my chart, the relationship between my Sun/Moon and Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto seems to jump out at me.

Somehow it reminds me of an algebraic expression (order of operations, maybe?) or a chemical equation. Not sure exactly.

I was hoping to get a few first impressions from a wider range of users (hence I posted it here). I figure most of you guys probably don't check the noob section too often.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
B.

Hi Brontex, welcome!

What do you want to know exactly?
If you know the basic meaning of the aspects and planets, it should be quite easy to understand.

Your Sun (the Self, or ego, or life force) conjuncts (is combined with) Saturn (structure, discipline, "reality"..) and Jupiter (higher mind, faith, religion, intuition, philosophy, foreign cultures, expansion of horizons..) and they all trine (in good relation with) your Moon (basic needs, emotions, the feminine side, mother and women, nurturing..).

So that sounds pretty good!

Your needs are probably aligned with your inner "you", and they're supported by a realistic, but somewhat optimistic vision of yourself and your abilities.

Sometimes Saturn and Jupiter can "fight for the spotlight" so you could be a bit pessimistic sometimes and too optimistic at other times, unless both planets are equally integrated in your psyche and act as a unit, thus combining both ideals and aspirations (Jupiter) with the discipline and hard work required to achieve them (Saturn).

Thanks for the breakdown, D.R.
I'd been able to look up the individual connections, and was using that to try and paint a more compound picture (if that makes sense).

I think what you say sounds pretty accurate---I work my butt off pretty much around the clock, even when I don't really have anything to work on, and I think I'm fairly pragmatic about it, but my overall goals frequently border on ridiculous, and I do often bite off a little more than I can chew.

What sort of influence would you say Pluto has on all of this? Also, what about House placement?

My Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are all in my 6th House (Libra) and my Moon is in my 10th (Aquarius).

Thanks again

You're welcome.

Usually 6th house relates to work and duties, as well as personal crisis and urge to "improve" - yourself, your life; others, their life, etc.

With that focus on that house, you can very well be a "workaholic" sometimes, and focus on doing things "right".

Moon in the 10th can make you quite focused on your career and the way you are seen out in the world - you may feel unsafe if your job isn't satisfying or if it feels like you're not doing the right thing.

It's a must for you to find your own place in society and feel good at what you do.
There may be an interest in being well-known for what you do, have a good reputation, being recognised and acknowledged.

Pluto in the mix intensifies things, making it borderline obsessive, or maybe you have an "all or nothing", black and white approach to your work, or the way you do things.

Very often the 6th house relates to health and the diet, so a lot of times when people have planets there they can focus on these things - trying to get healthier, be more good-looking, more "in control" of yourself, and so on. Anything that can make you feel like you're improving things.

Sometimes there's an urge to help people or at least it usually feels good to be of service and help others in some way.
Like a catharsis, especially with Pluto there, could point to a need for "purification" and healing on all levels.

Hope this helps some.

Thanks for the quick follow-up response, D.R..

I'm going to mull this over a bit.

I've definitely been accused of obsessing over my work. But I also tend to avoid the spotlight as much as possible. I also have a tendency to be all or nothing (black and white) in my actions, but very relativistic (shades of grey) in my perceptions and beliefs.

I suppose I ponder over things more than I probably ought to too.

No problem, Brontex.

I have planets in my 6th myself so I was mainly talking from experience (as well as external observations).

There is naturally a tendency to overthink when Mercury is involved (6th house is ruled by Virgo and Mercury) and often times there's a lot of worry and concern about all kinds of things.

Sometimes 6th house makes people quite insecure in their abilities, so watch for self-esteem issues and self-critical thoughts.

It's important to learn to relax, have fun, and stop thinking.

Look at your 5th house for that (house of fun, creativity, good times, amongst other things).

Haha, Yeah, Mercury is in my 6th House too. But in Scorpio instead of Libra. My 5th house is completely empty. Go figure.

Are you an Aries rising? Or Taurus?
The chart ruler is very important when it comes to personality.

If the 5th house is empty, you can look at the house cusp and the sign that's there (probably Leo or Virgo in your case) and then look at the ruler of that house.
But it's tricky in your case cause your 5th house ruler is probably in the 6th again.
So it all comes back to the 6th.
Anyway, doesn't mean you can't relax, cause anyone can do that (right?).

Taurus Rising. Mars is in my 4th House (Leo) right at the cusp.

When people first meet me they often comment on how easy-going, laid-back and relaxed I am. People who know me laugh at this---sometimes comparing it a to wheel or fan blade that's moving so fast it appears to be standing still.

I've never really been able to relax. Not even when I was a kid. It gets worse as I get older. There's always something in the back of my mind. Always. And if money isn't coming in or work or some project is unfinished then forget about even trying.

Thanks again, btw, I really appreciate all your input on this.

Taurus rising - you guys definitely appear very calm and soothing.
What you are like inside may be a different story, just like in your case.

Your chart ruler - or ASC ruler - is Venus.
It's in Sagittarius, at 0° - a critical degree, meaning that it's "fresh" and may need some time to be fully mastered.
It's in the 7th house of partnerships, which makes it very important when it comes to relationships.
Usually people with their chart ruler in the 7th are very people-oriented and find it hard to be alone.
Your Venus conjuncts Uranus however, so you may be more independent and detached than expected.

The way for you to "escape" from pressure and everyday life could lie in your Neptune in in the 8th house, trine Mars.

8th house is about hidden, deep things, like psychology, the occult.
It also rules over sexuality and transformation through Other, through intimacy and sharing yourself with someone.

The trine to Mars can point to possible creativity and vivid imagination, so you could explore some artistic pursuit for example, especially music or dancing.
Or just have someone to share things with at a deep level.

I think these things could make you "forget" about your everyday worries and give you the opportunity to escape for a while.

Can I ask you where the grids are from?
Are they from a site?
It looks good, I like the way it's presented.

Oh and you're welcome, it gets a bit boring here sometimes so I have plenty of time to waste, haha.

Ha. So you're saying I should indulge in weird creative pursuits and get laid more, huh? Try telling that to any of my ex's

Actually creative stuff permeates my personal and professional life---salaried/freelance writer for years. Newspaper column and everything. Plus web design stuff. Been featured in a few gallery openings, directed a couple of HORRIBLE music videos, even did a little voice-over work.

The charts are from something called "Soul Scope." Not sure about the details exactly. A friend put them together for me.

I have been kicking around the idea of an occult-related business venture lately. Been getting a lot of weird little signs. Maybe that's the ticket...

Sounds like you're making the best out of your placements!
Very cool, keep it up.. with a smile, please!

If you wanna know more about the whole "what should I do next?" concept, you should read about the North Node and what it represents in a natal chart.

It's supposed to bring rewards if we're wise and learn to follow its plan for us.

Awesome -- this has all been very eye-opening -- thanks again for taking the time to go over it with me.

Just back from a meeting now. (Like I said---always working.) But I'll look into this North Node thing more this evening.

No promises about the smiles though. People tend to make a big deal out of my dimple. Always makes me blush. Besides, I'm more of a smirk-er anyhow.

Glad I could help!

I should teach you how to relax!
I'm a pro.
Well, it comes with the laziness, I guess.
Not sure you can learn that.

As for the Nodes, you can start here:
http://www.truenode.org/north-node-signs/north-node-in-cancer/

The general description of the Lunar Nodes is very easy to find, you'll find it by yourself.

A Libra has to smile!
It's your default face.
Plus you're always charming so don't waste that pretty face.
