If yes I would blame it on retrograde Mercury What is the difference between a transit planet and a progressed planet?
How does, for instance tvenus conjunct natal sun be different ( or is it similar in energy?) to pr venus conjunct natal sun? I currently have tvenus conjunct natal sun 1 degree, pr venus sextile natal sun. I'm quite excited, I have pr mercury, pr mars,pr Jupiter, sextile natal sun. pr neptune trine natal mercury-venus exact. I have a natal exact neptune trine with mercury-venus. IP: Logged |

Mercury is retrogade? , no wonder everything is going so smoothly for me.Only the planets in your natal chart progress. I think Neptune, Uranus and Pluto don’t progress. Angles and nodes also progress. Most planets and angles progress 1 degree in a year. Transitting planets affect everyone.T Sun changes sign every month. Progressed sun in natal chart moves only 1 degree in a year. The effect of T Venus conjunct your natal Sun is felt for only around 10 days I think unless Venus retrogades. The effect of progressed Venus conjunct natal Sun is felt for around 2-3 years. I think effect of both of them would be very similar. IP: Logged |

Transits relate to how the planets actually move in the sky, and it is universal, the same for everyone. Venus is in the beginnin of Leo for everyone right now,a s that is just where she is.Progressions are related to your natal chart. Your birthday is the beginning and then the chart is being moved forwards symbolically due to your age, as people do not stand still but grow and move, too. There are two major techniques of progression/ direction. ONe is the secondary progression. Here each day in the ephemerides equals one year in your life. For example if you are 25 years old, you look up the placements of planets for the date 25 days AFTER your birth - these are your progressions for this year. Originally I had totally dismissed those, but the results of Paul Westrans study as pertaining to synastric progressions were just so astonishing, that I started paying more attention to them, and yes, they do work, very strongly do. Of course you have to see them in relation to your natal chart always. The other technicque are solar arc directions, here you add the number of your years to each natal position.
For example if your Sun is on 2 Aries and you are 25 years old, then the Solar arc Sun will be on about 27 Aries. The same is being done with each planet. The orb for progressions is roughly one degree, and for solar arc it is even narrower than this, 30 minutes before and after exactness. With solar arc the hard aspects are being used, with progressions all aspects. However I think these "rules" are really are a reflection of the preference of astrologers that use the techniques. For example Noel tyl and his pupils use solar arc quite a bit, and he pays most attention to the hard aspects anyway, so that may be the reason he uses them with solar arcs, too. Other astrologers might have a different opinion of this. IP: Logged |
