*Apology to goatcat for shamelessly stealing her thread idea. :PHow do I know which planet (or planets) is my most dominant one? Walter Pullen says one thing, the Color Horoscope says another… I have no idea which one is right. Does the chart ruler decide it or the most aspected planet or what? If someone could take a quick glance I would be forever grateful to you for finally solving this issue for me.  Thanks in advance!

You can use your chart for initial guidance, Meyray. Since you have so much water, another way is to use the chart then feel your way if the chart suggests more than one dominant planet and you cannot decide. Which one feels right to you? I use this technique to figure out mine, which I believe to be both Neptune and Uranus. Look for the chart ruler and planets really close to the angles. A planet like Saturn conjunct MC would be very strong, same with moon conjunct IC. Venus on the descendant is much stronger than Venus on the ascendant. A planet in it's own traditional house is strengthened. If you have one planet that makes a lot of aspects or is isolated with one strong aspect, you might notice it in your life more. Doesn't matter what it rules in your chart or if your chart doesn't suggest it is most dominant. Look at what's happening in your life, then you feel which one it is. That's most important imo. Well there are a lot of factors that go into choosing the most dominant.
It would be easier to see a calculation for that.

I've already seen that many times. It gives Mercury, Sun and Pluto as the tree most powerful planets. However in astro's Color Horoscope which also calculates dominant planets it gives Moon, Venus and Chiron as the most dominant ones while Sun and Pluto are in the middle and Mercury is almost last. I'd say Pluto.You have a lot of Scorpio placements,including Pluto.Saturn also aspects your personal planets.So does Mars. I don't go by the pullen or color horoscope either.I know Saturn is my dominant planet,a close second is Mercury. IP: Logged |

I wouldn't trust that color horoscope thing. I can see why it chose Mercury because you have 6 planets in the 6th house and a Gemini ASC. The pullen is the most mathematic way of ranking your planets but it's up to you to decide. IP: Logged |

Agrees with Mercury and Pluto with Pluto possibly being strongest since it's closest an angle and in it's own sign. Perhaps there's a feeling of not having enough personal power in relationships and this feeling can be overwhelming at times?IP: Logged |

Well, I read on almost every astrological page that Saturn is the most powerful/influential planet. So whatever sign you have in Saturn, overrules the other placements. I think it might also depend on which sign presents itself the most in your chart. For instance, if you have your Sun, Mars AND Saturn in Scorpio, then you would feel more like a Scorpio than any other sign. My Saturn is in Aquarius, as well as my ascendent. My Sun, Mars & Pluto is in Scorpio. My Moon & Mercury is in Sagittarius & the rest of my chart is in Capricorn. Overall, my personality traits suit Sag/Aqua more. Go through each sign, read their characteristics, personality traits, etc, & then see which one matches you best, then you'll know. Take note: Don't just choose a sign because you seem to like its traits more, choose it because you genuinely feel like it matches who you are!!* IP: Logged |

There might be some major truth to that. Especially because Venus falls on the Mercury/Pluto midpoint (almost) exactly.
