For example...Which Pluto is stronger? The one in Scorpio or the 8th house?

From what I've seen, I think the sign is stronger.
I have natal Pluto in Scorpio at 27° in 3rd House. It conjunct Mercury and North Node. I feel it strongly, specially in the intellectual process.

It depends on several factors. If Pluto is in the eighth house with strong aspects like conjunctions or oppositions to the luminaries, it will be considerably strong in house eight, the house it rules, and the person who has this will put a lot of energy into the types of activities that go along with that house.

Planet in its domicile can be a focal point of the chart and can mean much achievement for the person who has it, more so than what can be accomplished by house position alone.

So, Pluto in Scorpio conjunct ascendant is going to be stronger than Pluto in house eight as far as being a focal point in the chart, that is, a way to channel a lot of energy into specific goals, the over achiever type.

Pluto in eight is just going to do a lot of eighth house things, for better or worst, depending on sign and aspects it makes.

Hmm..
You can't really compare the two, because they represent different things.

The sign represents the way the energy is manifested, while the house shows the area of life where that energy will be expressed.

Pluto in the 8th means that the person will experience their Pluto and the aspects it makes mostly when it comes to intimate relationships, and sharing of intimacy / material possessions. If it's in Scorpio, then it will be quite black and white in its approach, maybe emotional and intense.

With Pluto in Libra for example, it may be more focused on the grey area, balance, equity. Overall a more harmonious vision of thigs.

Hope this makes sense.

I'm probably just reiterating here but, the sign is the way a planet plays out, the house being the area of life. When a planet is "at home" in its house, it's said to be in "accidental domicile." You could have a planet in fall or detriment by sign but in the house it naturally rules. As to how exactly that would play out I'm not sure.

Well, I can offer a quick example in my case: I have Mercury in Aquarius, which some people debate whether or not it's exalted there (I do, admittedly "biased" ), but in the 12th house, where some say it's in detriment while others would argue it's in fall. For me, I don't find it uncomfortable as much as sometimes difficult to put into words what can't always be (at least not understandably). With Pisces known as the sign of the poet and having Pisces rising, it helps by 12th house Mercury (and Sun and Moon) "get out there" what I want to communicate. I'm a published poet, and I'm not saying that to brag as much as demonstrate that planet(s) in detriment or fall by house can still make their positive mark.

Sorry for any rambling and I hope that contributes to this thread and what you're looking for response-wise. If you have any questions about what I wrote, don't hesitate to ask.
