Been listening to a lot of music lately and it struck me that along with the musicians that are/were Capricorns and the Capricorns I know personally, incl my afflicted Cappy Moon, Capricorns when depressed or "haunted", seem to go to depths no one else can go or reach them.Of course this exists in all other zodiacs as well but I just get this feeling with Caps, much more than with Scorpios and Pisces. I've never seen a Pisces that went through the depths of absolute desperation in a significant way, so I can't talk about Pisces energy, here. But personally (and yes, I'm biased but) I think Pluto beats Saturn and Neptune when it comes to reaching rock bottom. Capricorn energy is more "stoic", so while it can get really depressed and fatalistic, it's usually quite calm / resigned about it. With Scorpio, you feel like you're actually being ripped apart from the inside out - it's overwhelming and total, intense and chaotic. I'd put it this way: With Cap, it's like you're dying and turning into ashes. With Scorp, it's like you're being violently destroyed and annihilated.

Saturn is the sea floor, Neptune is a trench, and Pluto is the endless depths of an unexplored ocean.Capricorn isn't the half-fish seagoat for nothing. IP: Logged |

So its a mermaid goat then? I prefer the flying sheep though hence the nickname jk ------------------ Sometimes, truth isn't good enough, sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded. “For all those who believe, expect a miracle.” -Linda Goodman IP: Logged |

cap is more likely to be depressed for a longggggggg time because it is so stoic and trys to be too resigned about how they feelbut scorp will work thru it faster cause their emotions r so crazy they have nothing left to do but to deal with them and move on bein a cap sun with a libra moon i sometimes feel like it is hard to feel my emotions. i feel numb a lot or that i could feel more but jupiter trines and uranus/nep conjunct my sun so its not all bad ova heeerreeeeeee IP: Logged |

I think everyone retreats to their own world when (and if) they are depressed. Once they’re there, no one can reach them. It’s the worst state of mind and personally I don’t think there is a way to measure or compare the “depth” of a person’s depression. You have Capricorn moon perhaps that is why you’re more in tune and can feel/see the depth. Stoic and resigned ? Heh I don’t know much about astrology to argue that point. But I know that from personal experience, Capricorns ‘sadness and depression are violent <using “violent” for lack of a better word> My vocab range isn’t enough to describe those feelings.

My partner is a Cappy & a musician. Some of the lyrics... wow. :/ He always says that he has a dark mind and I believe him. He's also really into morbid things. Not just horror flicks, but like real life death (e.g. car crash videos). It's probably the one thing about him that disturbs me. ------------------

Yep....they hide it well though behind their (ours/mine) facade/s.. Art seems to be a very good outlet for Cappies. (and sex) IP: Logged |

What is this about Capricorns not being in touch with their emotions? I can't relate because I have so much water in my chart. IP: Logged |

My own world is a lot more dangerous than music. I drive. And driving fast with a wandering, depressed mind is terribly dangerous. I like convertibles, which makes it doubly dangerous.IP: Logged |

"'Street Spirit' is our purest song, but I didn't write it.... It wrote itself. We were just its messengers... Its biological catalysts. It's core is a complete mystery to me... and (pause) you know, I wouldn't ever try to write something that hopeless... All of our saddest songs have somewhere in them at least a glimmer of resolve... 'Street Spirit' has no resolve... It is the dark tunnel without the light at the end. It represents all tragic emotion that is so hurtful that the sound of that melody is its only definition. We all have a way of dealing with that song... It's called detachment... Especially me.. I detach my emotional radar from that song, or I couldn't play it... I'd crack. I'd break down on stage.. that's why its lyrics are just a bunch of mini-stories or visual images as opposed to a cohesive explanation of its meaning... I used images set to the music that I thought would convey the emotional entirety of the lyric and music working together... That's what's meant by 'all these things are one to swallow whole'.. I meant the emotional entirety, because I didn't have it in me to articulate the emotion...I can't believe we have fans that can deal emotionally with that song... That's why I'm convinced that they don't know what it's about. It's why we play it towards the end of our sets. It drains me, and it shakes me, and hurts like hell every time I play it, looking out at thousands of people cheering and smiling, oblivious to the tragedy of it's meaning, like when you're going to have your dog put down and it's wagging it's tail on the way there. That's what they all look like, and it breaks my heart. I wish that song hadn't picked us as its catalysts, and so I don't claim it. It asks too much. (very long pause). I didn't write that song." - Thom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrTB-iiecqk if you can listen to that and not be moved, you have no soul. IP: Logged |

LOL cappy edit Come to think of it I can't think of any song that really does justice to Capricorn's blackest moods. IP: Logged |
