Ascendant ruler or descendant ruler? My opinion is the latter, what do you think? At least for me

Both, I think.Obviously if you want to get a real sense or "partnership", the DSC ruler better be aspected but when it comes to relating - ASC ruler is quite important, too. I think what's really nice is to have someone's ASC or DSC ruler conjunct one of your angles, I've noticed that usually makes quite an impact. IP: Logged |

I agree with Doux - as so often. Especially an aspect like DESC-ruler conjunct ASC or ASC-ruler or ASC-ruler conjunct DESC is very significant. (of course other aspects like opposition, trine or square are important, too) ASCruler to ASC ruler, or DESC-ruler to DESC-ruler are important, too, but have a diff. emphasis. When your DESC-rulers are connected there is common ground when it comes to how you relate to others or what you are seeking in a relationship. If the ASC-rulers are connected it is more like you vibe with each other on a very personal energetic level. You activate each other. OH and I have found that sometimes it seems to work even if it is just person A`s ASC ruler in person B`s 7th house, or person A DESC-ruler in person B`s 1st house. Of course an actual aspect would be stronger, but there is a background-vibe with even just the placements. BTW did you read this article? I ahve come across it years ago and I still like it. http://www.astroresources.com/oct99.htm
(BTW of course the other angles, MC and IC, if conjuncted by any angle-ruler are quite important, too. They seem to give more a sense of purpose and direction though, a common base and possible lifedirection, while the ASC and DESC seem to deal more with attraction-scenario and basic personal vibes).

interesting! i think i might feel the DSC ruler more because my ASC ruler is pluto so it's conjunct everyone's around my age. i have ASC ruler conjunct ASC ruler with my boyfriend (1 degree, well a little less) and DSC ruler conjunct DSC ruler by 1 degree as well oh and i have ASC ruler conjunct my ASC natally so his conjuncts my ASC too (his sun is in taurus and i'm leo - venus, our DSC ruler, went retrograde and then direct again that year)

If ruler of ASC, Pluto is still very relevant and important. And actually it is not conjunct anyone`s Pluto of your generation, at least not with my preferred orbs. But then I am known to be strict. However, I would pay most attention of houserulers to the personal planets anyway (unless the outer ones rule important houses of course=). Also, you can check the traditional ruler for additional information, Mars. Also, I sometimes find that people sometimes do not identify with certain houserulers (especially the outer planets ruling houses), especially if they seem to contradict the personal relationship planets Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars.
Let`s say someone`s DESC-ruler (let`s say Saturn) is in Gemini, but their Sun is in Taurus, Moon in Cancer, Venus in Pisces and Mars in Capricorn. I`d doubt that they would REALLY fall for the flitty Gemini character, their DESC-ruler proposes; probably in this case they would rather project it out and encounter this energy in person of annoying funny people, who despite their charm might feel just too shallow and never taking anything serious and so on (this is why the 7th house is also the house of the open enemies.). yeah see, even though my DSC ruler is venus in gemini - i don't like geminis in general. they're too flighty. my descendant and moon are in taurus (venus in gemini) and my boyfriend is taurus sun, moon, scorpio rising and venus in gemini. i appreciate the conjunction with my venus in gemini but not necessarily geminis in general. same goes with my chart ruler in scorpio. i've never been hell-bent on attraction to scorpios, but i seem to like people who also have scorpio rising with chart ruler pluto in scorpio. i had a lot of that stuff in that link going on RunAroundScreaming. Poor girl got multiple facebook messages with my comments on all that we had.
it's really interesting, esepcially since this one feels different than any other relationship and quite seriously is likely the love of my life -- which he feels too. hopefully, if we stand the test of time, i can piece together whatever aspects made this one so special to be able to share IP: Logged |

i checked mars out and i think that it kind of packs the punch. like makes or breaks the pluto or something.... not sure if i can describe it. maybe like pluto's height man anyways, what are your preferred orbs? i know pluto was retrograde for a bit the year i was born so it keeps it closer.
