She attracts Capricorns and Cancers (Me too! And I'm Aries/Gemini for the most part.) It makes sense for me though because Capricorn rules my 8th house, and Saturn is in my 7th.

My question is how my Moon influences that attraction (actually now I think I know why I attract Cancers but we'll get to that in a second)? My Moon is in the 11H and trines Saturn in the 7th. And Cancer rules my 2H. Does this mean the Capricorns I attract will have self-esteem issues, are insecure, are possessive, and Cancerian overall? Or what? A better way to frame my question: How would the 11th house influence my ability to attract Capricorns, since my Moon is there and does my Moon trine Saturn influence their attraction to me at all?

Hey Hanna!

Ehm. . .I don't know if I can answer this properly but I'll give it a shot.

The 2nd House ruler

From Howard Sasportas:

quote:
The 2nd house shows what we desire. Desire-energy is a mysterious and powerful force: in fact, what we desire, value or appreciate largely determines what we attract into our lives. There is an allegory pertaining to this principle. The people of a small town had such an enormous appreciation for a certain world-famous and acclaimed artist that they wrote to his agent to ask if this illustrious man would deign to visit their town. The agent replied in no uncertain terms that the famous artist had no time to spare to travel to such an insignificant municipality as theirs. Undismayed, the people there established study societies to explore more deeply the work, life and philosophy of their beloved artist, and they even commissioned a statue of him to be erected in the town centre. Eventually the artist heard of the overwhelming enthusiasm and love which these people felt for his work. Naturally, he grew curious enough to journey to this little town where all this fuss was being made over him. In the end, not only did he visit the town but he felt so welcomed there that he decided to make it his new home.

Sasportas, Howard. The Twelve Houses (p. 37).

Now, the trine between your 2nd House ruler and your 8th House ruler. Aspects show us how energy moves, if it needs a push, an outside force, if it moves quite easily, etcetera. I'm not sure how this trine would apply to what you attract, I just use house rulers for this kind of thing. Although, what I quoted above shows possibly why you attract Cancers in the first place. Why you attract Capricorns could be because of our inherent desire to understand ourselves, to evolve and the 8th House is about the merge.

Also quoting from Howard Sasportas:

quote:
Like Persephone’s abduction into the underworld, in very intense relationships we descend into the depths of our being to discover our primordial instinctual inheritance: the envy, greed, jealousy, rage, seething passions, the need for power and control as well as the destructive fantasies which may lurk beneath the most genteel façade. It is only through recognizing and accepting ‘the beast’ in us that it can be transformed. We cannot change anything we don’t know is there. We cannot transform something we condemn. The darker side of our nature must be brought to light before we can be cleansed, regenerated or born again.

Sasportas, Howard. The Twelve Houses (p. 61).

From all of this, maybe it is the fact that your desire nature and your transformative needs move easily between one another. Maybe your 2nd House ruler being in the 11th House shows that friends could do this for you, older friends possibly. Saturn is the traditional ruler of Aquarius, so it may give you more of a push toward Saturnian types. Maybe it means that you desire friendship with your partners or because of what you two bring to the relationship. It allows ease of movement so it might be something you don't even notice, like the background noise of a machine working properly, not the loud clank of a machine that constantly breaks, if you know what I mean.

If anything, I wouldn't say that the ruler of the 2nd House being the Moon would bring people that have low self-esteem or issues there. It might but I don't know if they would all have low self-esteem if any of them do at all.

Anyway, I just rambled forever and it might not mean much. I'm sorry if I wasted your time!

You didn't waste my time at all! I'm having trouble understanding what you posted, but it's also 4:30 in the morning (dang graveyard shifts!) I will have to think on it. I'm also wondering how the energy can move easily between the 2nd and 8th houses when they're oppositional...

I had a feeling I didn't write that properly, sorry ha!

I meant, your 2nd House ruler is trining your 8th House ruler.

I use house rulers more than I use anything else. I kind of look at it from the perspective of the house ruler using it's own energy, flavoured with it's sign placement's energy and exerting that energy through the aspect. The house ruler may exert it easily if it's a trine or it may have trouble exerting the energy if it's a square.

I'll edit the post and try to be more clear. Sorry, I confuse a lot of people. My speech is all effed up! ha!
