Unfortunately he died this week...
I've seen recent topics about astrology and death and this peeked my interest.

He passed way on the 13th.

Now lets discuss this..

I was so shocked when I saw that..

May he rest in peace.

What I notice is that tSaturn is right on his Jupiter.. and tJupiter trines all that.

Very interesting Doux, I've read that jupiter is often linked with death.
Especially jupiter return.

Death

On July 13, 2013, at the age of 31, Monteith was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. He had been scheduled to check out earlier that day, but when he failed to do so, hotel staff entered his room and discovered his body. Although the Vancouver Police Department said the cause and manner of death were not immediately apparent, foul play was ruled out. An autopsy is scheduled for July 15. Monteith's publicist issued this brief statement following the police news conference, "We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss." Also expressing condolences, the executive producers of Glee and 20th Century Fox Television said in a statement, "Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously," which became a Facebook status on the Glee page.

Kerosene,

Yes, Jupiter is often prominent via transit and / or progression when someone dies - the theory says it's because you're being "liberated".

Apparently it was from substance abuse

That's disturbing.. Perhaps dying from jupiter influence is auspicious for the soul.

I would rather have Jupiter's loving energy take me than pluto or mars..

Rumors say he OD'ed on drugs. If that is so, then his natal moon-neptune conjunction being so close to transit pluto and natal moon opposed by t. jupiter may be at work.

Oh man.. He must of been in a dark place too..

Maybe he wanted to overdose...

In my experience pluto/moon is usually linked to depression and suicidal thoughts.

I agree with you, Kerosene.

I think the fact that Jupiter is prominent is actually a good thing, but then - what do I know.. Still, sounds better than Pluto!

He had Mars square Neptune natally - can point to substance abuse, especially if the Moon conjuncts Neptune.

Sigh.

^^ I'd say moon-pluto is more a fascination with death itself.

Moon-Neptune is more to do with escapism, mental and physical liberation, they feeling of well -being that death represents, seen more as liberation of the pain.

With pluto, the moon is a little bit lunatic..

Yeah, looks like it. I feel sad for him, though. His demise was totally unexpected.

Now that you guys mention it, the transits on his chart do look dark.

jupiter 'expands' when in contact. I have seen charts of girls who got raped multiple times in a night having prominent Jupiter in their charts and Jupiter transits during that time.It can expands sadness, love, feeling a certain good faith in humanity that gets bloated out of perspective. Or being overly optimistic about a bad person, or a bad situation that would normally be viewed as hopeless by their peers hence causing the person more pain, more suffering but they feel they are doing it for a cause..for a good cause.

More so because Jupiter represents the Lord of Dharma that when in aspect or owned by lord of Karma Saturn as emphasized in the natal ( can be uranus/neptune/pluto/NN) almost lulls the person to their own demise.

Oh my gosh Jess, that's absolute horrible...

You know in greco-roman mythology jupiter/zeus was a complete asshat...

I was just thinking of the Vedic perspective of jupiter as this spiritual and holy guru..

In reality all planets have an evil side!
Venus is just as scary.. *shivers*

Yes, all planets have a good and evil side.

Vedic however categorize some of them as natural benefics and natural malefics.Jupiter is an natural benefic, Brihaspati, the Guru, the remover of darkness. But if he is in malefic houses or associated with malefics, then he sorta have a hidden agenda!

Jupiter is often involved in death because Jupiter is the natural ruler of the 12th House of totality.

Pisces is also what houses addiction and drug overdose could be symptom of this house or the ruler having an impact on this person's life.

We can see by Jupiter's glyph that he is the expansion of consciousness over the cross of reality. That is why he rules both expansion through the 9th House of the higher mind and also the 12th House of spiritual totality.

Also notice how the glyph is in line with the cross of reality for a time but eventually it arcs over into wholeness. Death is both bad and good.

T Jupier opposite N Moon
quote:
Watch overworking your body and indulging in rich food and drink - your stomach is more sensitive and may cause you some discomfort.

He also got T Jupiter: opposite Neptune, square Mars
T Mars square Mars
I think it was accidental drugs overdose. Transits from Jupier made him sensitive to any kind of substance

Magha..
Yeah.. I know it's not a stellar nakshatra for jupiter :P

I found this thou, which seems okay with me

quote:
Jupiter in Magha helps one to have higher education. Fond of Society and will have connection with powerful personality. As a businessman he can achieve success easily. He is clever and diplomatic. Can acquire name and fame in the later part of life.

Jess we need to make an epic vedic astrology thread sometime.
We have to convert some LLers

what's your jupiter doing..?
I wonder if the natal placement of jupiter would give us insight into how one will become "liberated" as doux mentioned earlier!

Interesting, Doux. When my both of my parents died, Jupiter was transiting conjunct their natal Saturn.
