Does Mercury Square Saturn impact intelligence? I remember reading somewhere on here that it indicates a "harsh judge"

What are your thoughts on this aspect in a natal chart?

How can a person handle this aspect, how do they think?

I personally have this aspect in my natal chart and there is a lot told about ''disabilities'' but that is hardly the case.
My mercury is in cancer which supposingly should make me talk with emotion and caution of what I say so I wont hurt somebody's feelings which is true to the people that do not deserve a bad attitude. However, when I think that something is wrong(Saturn in Aries),I express myself strongly and I do harsh criticism, generally to people of some kind of authority ex teachers, father, country ect
It is said that it gives intelligence and Albert Einstein had the opposition and he couldn't speak until the age of 3 or 4.

Ah, Mercury square Saturn, ol' sport... just kidding. I have this aspect and could do without it. I take longer than most to learn things that are difficult, have to be told the same thing three times, three different ways, and find it hard to concentrate.

The plus about this Mercury square is that I can hold my tongue moreso than other Aries Mercuries, and I also think it gives more weight to what I say, even the tone in which I say it. I work in customer service and while people argue with my other employees after being told "No," the first time - they don't with me. I'm not rude but I think Saturn adds a sterner tone to Mercury and people understand I mean what I say.

The good thing about this aspect is that it makes you feel insecure of the ways that you talk/write,you tend to look at every detail and think really hard before saying or writing something but in the end of the day,you will thank it because that way you educate yourself more so as to feel confident.

Mercury Square Saturn is the ideal aspect of the typical perfectionist.

I have never had these problems. My Mercury is in Leo and Saturn in Taurus and my only problem is that I am SUPER CRITICAL of what I say. If I say something wrong, I'll beat myself up about it or if I say something that sounds stupid I'll be like *facepalm*

Hmm, it hasn't impacted on my intelligence that much, but then again my Mercury's in Gemini
But I have found that it's made me super critical and insecure about the way I speak, as someone else posted earlier. I was always a quiet kid and used to get really nervous when speaking to people; I'd either stutter or speak way too fast, which I'd always cringe about afterwards. It's improved in the past couple of years, but public speaking is still a big no-no. I still can't post facebook statuses with careless abandon like my friends do. It takes me ages to write essays, which I'd revise over and over again.

Despite that, I'm about to start a degree in English Literature this year so it really isn't the end of the world! ^^

Yep and I tend to speak slowly. I have Mercury in Virgo 7th house square Saturn in Sagittarius 9th house. Einstein had this, but I believe he had the conjunction. I love to write though. I prefer to write everything, and not have to speak instead!! I'm better at reading and writing than speaking and listening.

Lol, well, good for you! I used to agonize over what I say but not so much anymore. I feel stupid a lot of the time though, like people are so much smarter than me, and I'm critical of what other people say. I'm somewhat of a grammar/spelling nazi and get annoyed when people don't speak efficiently.
