I'm visiting my older sister (3yrs apart) right now and I decided to look up our synastry and composite and although we have some really nice aspects (sun conjunct my venus, jupiter conjunct my sun nearly exact, her venus conjunct my NN by 2 degrees, etc.), her saturn squares my mars by a little over 3 degrees and I haven't read anything good about this aspect at all. Can there be any way to offset such a harsh aspect? IP: Logged |

I have this aspect EXACT with one of my older sisters (I'm the Mars). Her Saturn lands in my 12th house, too. Looking at isolated aspects should set the alarms ringing, but honestly I've never found it to be a problem. With all synastry, you need to start by looking at the individual natals as a whole (NOT just isolated aspects), but in the interest of time, I'll just point out a couple of things here: In her natal, Saturn's aspects are all squares and oppositions, so her Saturn is accustomed to being under stress; she's a very DISCIPLINED person, a very MATURE person. My Mars is trine my Mercury and square my Venus, so my Mars is also used to some stress. Whenever she and I get together, we get rather competitive (Mars) in playing Scrabble (my Mercury is in the 5th house) which she takes very seriously (Saturn). Surprised? IP: Logged |

Perhaps I should mention that both her Saturn (in 29 Virgo) and my Mars (in 0 Cancer) are both RETROGRADE. IP: Logged | |
