Hi guys! I'm wondering if my libra rising is in the first or the second decan?My birth chart is showing libra rising between 10 and 11 degrees. I found a website which claimed that a person only has a second decan libra rising if his acendant degree is 11 or beyond. So I am not quite on the 11 mark. Does that mean I could be a first decan? Does it make a difference rgd physical appearance? Also, how precise are the recorded time of birth? Do you think the nurses are very precise on that, or should I go back a few minutes so I make sure I get a first decan libra rising?  IP: Logged |

You are a second decan Libra rising! Each decan is split into 10 degrees and the first decan covers degrees 0 to 9. So congrats! Uranus is your mini dispositor.IP: Logged |

I think also 10.xx degree is second decans because for the first decan , the degree number shouldn't go beyond 10.00 Just m2c  IP: Logged |

Exactly as it sounds! Look to both Mercury and Venus when thinking about your AC's dispositor. Mercury will have governance, but Venus will add more nuanced and subtle or complex themes too! IP: Logged |

Somethingexcellent, if my vedic rising sign is virgo, does it mean that I am a virgo rising too? I am a libra rising in western astrology, so I am so confused. Can I be both libra rising and virgo rising? IP: Logged |

Per-Gunnar you are right at the very beginning of the second decan Libra ascendant. I am at the very end of the first decan at 9 degrees Libra. Sun and Saturn, Jupiter are similar, so are the IC, DC, MC. all are between 8-10 degrees of a sign (though not all in the same one,) just on the edges of the first decan each.IP: Logged |

Interesting. I'm in the same boat. Libra Rising in western and virgo in vedic
But Venus is virgo in western and leo Venus in Vedic I've never looked at leo Venus much but I just can't see it. IP: Logged |

hmm thats a bit tricky but I would say if 10 degrees consider yourself first decan if 11 then second. also, I have witnessed one birth so far and yes the nurse was pretty accurate with the time. IP: Logged |

StarlightSmileSupreme, I guess that means you're more awesome than me, since I'm "only" a second decan libra rising First decan libra risings are supposed to be even more charming and better looking etc, so I felt a bit dissapointed when I found out how close I was to being a first decan. First decan libra risings have Britney and Di Caprio etc. While I don't know of any celebrities who have their asc in the second decan  Although I still think I'm awesome enough hehe But I am still confused about my rising sign, cause in vedic astrology I am a virgo rising. So I don't know if I am a libra rising, or a viro rising. So which one is my rising sign? IP: Logged |

It could be interpreted as too much Venus, Per-Gunnar. Maybe it's better to have the influence of another sign and planet to go with Libra?I am Virgo rising in Vedic, too and my sun changes to Leo. Mercury goes into Virgo and is in house one. The Vedic chart isn't too different from the western one, they both involve Virgo and Leo and the moon doesn't change signs. I have a Virgo sun in western, Virgo ascendant in Vedic, Leo Venus in Western, Leo sun in Vedic. I like having a Scorpio Mars in Vedic. IP: Logged |

Same for me but I am first decan 5 degrees.
I'm not going to be featured in a magazine for sure so wouldn't worry about the looks. More plays into looks than just rising.

Starrystrosphere, do you know what it is that determines people's birth time? Is it when the umbilical chord is cut, or is it when the baby is out? How long does it take before the nurses cut the umbilical chord? Cause if they delay that stuff, I'm a bit dissapointed, cause then I could have been a first decan libra rising Actually, when I was born, my head got stuck in my mothers womb, so the first thing I did in my life, was to flash my bare ass to the world I was born upside down, so I got born with style! I can't part with my beloved scales lol so I will always have an affinity with Libra with my own spin. I apply it to my life instead of going by what various books say. My life has been about striving for balance though and I do appreciate fashion so long as it's my own. What I can't relate to about Libra descriptions is being fashionably trendy, designer, fake. I march to the beat of my own drummer tyvm, not someone else's. I have to be careful with makeup, can't wear the cheap stuff for the same reason, it makes my skin break out. I am hypersensitive to my environment. I stick to earrings and elastic bands for bracelets. I like scarves around the neck, sometimes, in winter though.What about you, can you relate to what you read about Libra or do you feel more like Virgo? I can relate a little to Virgo. Am not nearly organized or practical enough to have this ascendant. However, in both Vedic and Western Mercury is conjunct Jupiter so it might affect Virgo in Vedic.

I follow western myself because I know it fits.
I'm not classically attractive, yet still attractive apparently lol
Which suits libra rising from what I've read.
I personally wouldn't get too bent on it. I doubt the decan will effect your looks THAT much. You're still libra rising! I read Leo sun physical description in a book and it was crazy accurate
I'm just saying... I wouldn't split hairs about it.

Hi, Per-Gunner!Thanks for sharing your insights about Virgo and Libra ascendants. I feel the comedy vibe strongly, too, and the specialized information one. Not sure if I can blame Virgo, Sagittarius, or Mercury with Jupiter for the sense of humor? Sometimes, my biggest obstacle is figuring out what goes where in my chart. I possess the geeky vibe to some extent in my thinking, too. I like to collect info about what I'm interested in. My grasp of details is not the greatest (Mercury conjunct Jupiter/moon opposite Neptune.) I tend to memorize then forget some of them. That's why, when I meet someone with an outstanding memory, I am amazed. I tend to idolize in others what I feel I lack. So, I don't feel like I have the best Virgo mind and Vedic Mercury in Virgo? I wonder if I can live up to it? I know what you mean about Libra, too. I really connect with the artsy side - creativity and liking the way certain things look. I had a dream last night about a friend and she showed me a space she created it was very plum-rose in color - the walls and furnishings - and many little antique clocks, various nick-knacks and tables. It's not what I would create myself but It seemed so Libra-like, that dream, in a very conventional Libra sense without any Uranian influence.
