Does anyone know the difference between the two, in terms of actual events, like predicting something or evaluating the chances of an association with someone? Can you use SA the same way you use sec.pr? Are they effective on their own, or should they be used with the sec.pr? And what about transits, do they affect the SA placements, too?

I don't know. Solar Arcs move every single planet one degree per year, as far as I know, whereas progressed charts don't move everything along - Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto, and Uranus, tend to be very close to where they start out. Neptune, too.If anyone can tell me of a free program or site, that will show me my solar arcs, I'd appreciate it. I found out a few years ago, that my SA Pluto was conjunct my Sun/Moon and Sun/Venus midpoint, which I thought explained everything at the time, but I had a free program that I can no longer find to download. teasel,astro.com ! In the Extended chart selection, under progressions, you can find your progressions, transits and SA combined. IP: Logged |

Oh, my goodness! SA Moon/Venus and I guess SN, are all squaring my Jupiter and Pluto, and moving to conjoin Saturn, from the sign of Cancer. I guess we have a winner! SA MArs at 9*Aries, squares Saturn, and was conjunct Jupiter and opposed PLuto, a couple of years ago... SA Pluto is squaring my MC and IC! SA Chiron is conjunct my Moon/Venus.Progressed Sun moved into Gemini last year, to conjoin my Gemini planets and now square Pisces Mars, I guess - or it will do that soon. Progressed Venus is conjunct Pr. Saturn and was conjunct the natal one... progressed mars moved into Aries last year. So either one could be at play. But that Moon/Venus being squared by Jupiter and Pluto would explain some of the crazy/emotional stuff going on. IP: Logged |

I think the meaning its the same. Development of life1984 SA pluto squared my N mars,SA mercury conj SA uranus squared my N venus. I divorced and marriage at the same time. My son was born this year also with my first husband. 1991-94.. PR/SA sun conj my N mercury conj N uranus and PR mercury was in retro conj N mercury conj N uranus= I was on the university and get through hard studies. I also on the same time rised my children and build a house togheter with my second husband. 1998 SA/PR sun conj N pluto. Divorced and got a new better job in another country. 2002-2003. SA Sedna conj N moon. My exhusband died and I took my children and moved 50 miles from my home town. I was really poor. I had nothing. We start our new life from a little flat on the bottom of a house. Now my children got their educations and well paid jobs. 2010-11 PR venus conj N AC conj N Sun. Nice time. I got my new relationship and my new house.. Good time everything feels ok also with my children and parents... IP: Logged |

I did have quite lucky time in 2009. I felt happy at that time: Pr. Sun conjunct N Jupiter, Pr.Mars trine N Moon and sextile N Pluto. Pr. ASC on my Sun/Moon mp SA Jupiter conjunct N Venus,Mars SA Neptune opposite N Sun SA ASC conjunct Anti VertexOne of the most unlucky years was 2011: Pr. Moon was most of the time in my N(and progressed) 12th house squaring my N Uranus, Neptune, Moon, Node Stellium SA Neptune conjunct N Saturn SA Pluto square N Venus, Mars SA Chiron conjunct N Jupiter SA ASC square N Saturn I don't know yet if transits have any influence over progressed charts... in my experience both work. However, other astrologers might favour one over the other. http://www.themetaarts.com/200405/basilfearington.html http://www.themetaarts.com/archives/200301/basilfearington.html http://astrologynewsservice.com/articles/unique-study-links-venus-to-romantic-choices-people-make/ IP: Logged |

I always use them both at the same time. I use a combination of Progressions, SA, Transits to natal and Converse progression. For a major event to occur, activities in BOTH progressions and SA should be noticable + transits to natal. SA activities will be shown mostly with angles. When I check back on my and my s.o. past major events - SA on angles was present at any of it, along with some progression aspects between planets. But the SA were definitely activating an angle in either mine or his chart. Which is spooky.IP: Logged |

Orange, same here. That is why solar arcs are gold in rectification (esp. if the birthtime is approximately known). I have been fascinated with converse progressions, but never found anybody to use them. What are your experiences with them? They seem kind of important for me now, as I will have a Sun-Venus-conjunction by converse progression It will be precise in august 2016, but has just moved into the usual one degree orb (it is at 0°46 a now). I am not sure how to interprete converse progressions though (this conjunction of mine is now at 16-17 Scorpio - some time ago there was the transiting nodal axis going over it and my SA Pluto is at 18 Scorpio with SA MC at 14 Scorpio). I noticed it and found it intriguing but am a little bit stumped as to what it means. lol

Hi Ceri my dearI use Converse only for confirmation and for timing, not as a predictive technique alone. For an event to occure, I like to see things happening in each one of the forementioned charts. Since all natal planets and angles in SA are arched together, it's very important to watch a natal stellium approaching an activation via SA. If, for example, one has a Sun/Venus/MC natal conjunction, watch carefully this stellium and see when it will be arched to make an important hard aspect, preferably a conjunction to an angle or another planet in the natal or the SA chart, preferably the natal chart. If SA and Progressions are active, i fast forward to see when the transits will kick in to time in the event. There MUST be transits to work with the SA and the Progressions. No transits - no action. Then, lastly, I check the Converse to see how it is doing amidst all this. The angles of the Converse were activated by converse or natal planets most of the time (about 90%) during a major past event in my life. Converse progressions does not affect attitude or change emotional response, like Secondary Progression does. I use it only as a confirmation and a timing indicator. It's all about SYNCHRONICITY which i believe in. IP: Logged |

I just tried this for 3 very critical events in my life: first night in my house as a new homeowner, death of my mom, and death of my dad. I'm seeing much more happening with the SA then with progressions. Nodes were involved in all three events and Chiron with both my parents' deaths. Angles were also involved with both deaths, but not with the house. Perhaps that's because the decision to buy had been made months prior, but I don't have the exact date for that.IP: Logged |
