Doux, and a friend from another site, have me thinking about this.

He was asking about people with Venus/Mars aspects, and Venus in the 8th: I have both. I've always been called "sexy," and I hardly ever understand why. I had strong feelings that I didn't get to express (due to attracting the wrong men), but hardly ever see myself that way (I no longer do at all).

I've noticed that in the past, over a number of years, I attracted the cheaters and those who wanted to ditch their jobs, and "be free", when I wanted someone who was actually attracted to me, and stability. I have planets and aspects that are seen as flighty and untrustworthy (Venus in Gemini, Moon in Gemini, Uranus aspecting them, and other planets).

Yes, unfortunately (or fortunately?) it's very common to attract people / situations that reflect a part of ourselves we're not aware of or don't want to accept.

It often happens with oppositions, or planets in the 7th, but sometimes problematic squares or even conjunctions can play out that way, as well.

I don't really know how to break the pattern, but being aware of the dynamics is probably a good start.
Working on some inner tensions and learning to reconcile different aspects of our psyche would surely give good results.

Anyway, you're definitely not alone in this, teasel! ~

It's just confusing where I'm attracting people who do things that I definitely do *not* want to do. Like those who seem to have been stable, until they meet me and decide that they want to be free, and have no commitments whatsoever, when I'm pretty much a commitment-oriented person. I don't date around, have no interest in cheating, or helping someone to cheat. I don't know if they're seeing something in me, or just douchebags in general.

Thanks for responding, Doux.

You're very welcome, teasel.

I feel you.
Maybe it's about karma.. Who knows.

Just don't let it get you down, okay?

Maybe your lesson is to learn to let go and realize that happiness cannot be achieved just through other people.. it can only be felt from within.

Take a look at this link, Teasel, and see if it helps you understand the dynamic:

Hmm
It sounds like some asteroid as they are archetypes as in myth. I know you love Clarissa Pinkola Estes as I do. She deals with archetypes.
See which asteroids conjunct your ASC, Sun, Moon and Venus

Oops, I meant to ask others about their experiences, too.

I've been mostly accepting and forgiving in the past, so I wonder if that frees them up to be themselves - my Uranus conjunct ascendant. There are things that trigger me that do have to do with those things I mentioned above: like polyamory, and I tend to attract those who want that sort of lifestyle. Another one was warming up to me earlier in the year, and I stopped them. Of course, they also seem to appear when I'm feeling vulnerable - and I hate that. It's like they're looking to take advantage of someone whose guard might be down.

I will check out the links. I shouldn't still be here, but I keep getting distracted. I was just telling someone that I still like the idea of living in side-by-side houses with a S.O., due to my need for a certain amount of space. I don't know how to look for that, and be with someone who is as commitment-oriented as I am. We'd have our own space, and meet somewhere in the middle, share a bedroom, living room, and kitchen, but have our own areas - like I tend to be up at odd hours, and wouldn't want to disturb them.

^^ Me too! Oops, too late, ha.

I seem to have what you're talking about (different issues, but still repeating certain themes), but I've never considered it from an astrological perspective, only psychological.

It's gotten better over the years, and with so many hard transits (Pluto square Venus, Pluto, and Saturn) there have been some really good changes.

But still...so much Pluto and Saturn in my life and relationships...even with my son!

I'm going to have to read this thread a few times, ha.

I attract a lot of the Mars square Pluto, Venus square Saturn and Moon opposite Neptune. I seem to attract my tense aspects when I want to attract my Venus sextile Mercury/Jupiter/Uranus/Pluto conjunct.
