I think it would depend what aspects Mars makes to other planets coz my Mars aspects Moon/Mercury by tight square.

When it comes to matters of the heart, I'm very indirect with getting whom I want(much like Mars in Cancer-because of the Moon square aspect).

My emotions are too heavily invested for me to be "gung ho" and direct about it. There are too many unfavourable outcomes to consider. So, I take it slow and "feel" the other person out by seducing them with my sense of humour and wit.lol(this is where I am very similar to Gemini Mars placement too- as I use wit and conversation to "lure" a person in)

I know other Mars in Libra guys and our approaches are not all the same.

For instance, if Mars in Libra aspects Pluto by conjunction, square or opposition-like my ex. The Libran may come across as "nice" on the surface, but damne, watch out for that dominance and obession to have things their way.

If Mars aspected no other planets, my guess would be that I'd be much like my other ex- who has his Mars unaspected; very smooth, very forward, very charming,uses his looks a lot to flirt but can also come across as insecere and a "player".

I'm now with a Mars in Capricorn and his approach is a lot more "steady". His Mars is softened by the trine with the moon and heated up by the Sun.

He was very reserved but approachable when I pursued him and I think, because of his Moon aspecting Mars, I could sense a kindered spirit.

Thanks for sharing your personal insight!
I can see how aspects can definitely change a planets energy.
He has:
Sun sextile mars
Mercury sextile mars
Jupiter sextile mars
Saturn opposite mars (wide)
Uranus trine mars
Neptune trine mars (wide)
Pluto sextile mars

So maybe he'd be more assertive/direct? Or no?

This is why if you look at many Mars in Libra people their musculature is very poor. Skinny appendages, kind of lazy off beat stride.

Im probably at an advantage that my Sun is in Sagittarius and Mars is in the 1st house in accidental dignity. But stiilll it's Mars in Libra.

I know some Mars in Libra guys who will be quick to fight you. But Im from the city, it's kind of something they we're born into and embodied out of necessity,still though, Mars isn't functioning right.

So for everybody else, maybe with a weaker sun or moon and has Mars in Libra especially What you must do

1: Buy Red Coral and Carnelian stones. Get em, carry them.

2: You must eat meat and iron rich foods.

3: Kidney tonics, like cordyceps and Reishi Mushrooms. (or organ meats, like Buffalo kidney or some other animal's kidney)

4: Exercise, resistance training, cardio. All a must. This placement is not interested enough in physical activity. You have to kick yourself in the ass and get out there and start working. Despite it being in detriment, it's a masculine cardinal sign so it's not bad for athletics. Not the most explosive athletically but coordinated good on the floor/field thinker.(Some of the greatest all time pro athletes have this placement, ala Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade for example)

Thats how you can "bypass" the downsides of this placement. Doing all the above will increase aggression, libido, energy levels GREATLY. It's what I use myself.

The opposition with Saturn can be telling as all the others form a comfortable "easy" aspect to his Mars -that they may not be easily recognisable.

Mars is decisons and Saturn is consequences.

The opposition could indicate someone who would rather make no decsion at all then make one that'll have unfavourable consequences.

Someone who takes setbacks and rebuffs very personally and can be easily discouraged.

Someone extremely pessimistic and fault-finding with others.

On the other side, it can also indicate a "Fighter";

A person who takes life's setbacks in stride(even though these setbacks may happen one after the other).

A person who develops purpose and drive through obstacles and hardships.

A champion who overcomes incredible odds to become a victor.

To me, that doesn't sound like a "woes" at all.

But I do suspect that this in an individual who doen't like to "misuse" his energy(another Saturn/ Mars opposition trait). He needs to be sure that his drive and focus will yield sure results.

Definately not the type to take risks or pursue something that he isn't sure of.

I don't think he is "unmotivated", just not resolute in what he wants(maybe including you).

Now the thing is, with self knowledge , I know that Mars in Libra characteristics are not "normal" or how men really should operate. Most Mars in Libra men have NO idea about astrology or self knowledge, so they probably don't think anything of their actions(or inactions w this placement) But when you KNOW something isn't operating correctly. You can fix it.

I have Mars in Libra and I have ALWAYS been very active throughout my life.

But I do prefer sports like athletics, Tennis,swimming as they focus more on the individual than team sports like rugby, soccer and the like....

I have also always been very competitive.I must be a different "type" of Mars.

I have also met someone who shares my B-day and they are the opposite of me.

They prefer letting others lead, don't like doing anything strenous and have been involved in a relationship with a partner that was the aggressor.

I haven't studied the person closely as we are not close(ironically enough), but don't see myself in his shoes.

After we were married for about 9 yrs I found out that he was having an affair with my best friend. It nearly killed me. If you ever see a Saggie denied of their idealism, it is a sad day. I found out that he had been cheating all along, and with more than just that one friend.
I chose to stay because we had 3 little kids.

So many times I forgave that man and believed what he said to me. Mars in Libra CAN convince you of their promises to change.
Long story short, after 22 yrs of marriage, he just won't stop so we have got to part.

Wow,asI said, I have the same placements too. But do you thin that it was the Mars in Libra that was responsible for that?

I also have quite a few admirers and have only slipped up once(with a Libra Sun)with my relationship with a Taurus.

Your ex husband, like me, has harsh aspects to his Moon.

Venus opposite Moon.
Mars square Moon.

His Venus also gets a beating from Mars by square.

Luckily mine forms a conjunction with Saturn and Pluto.

I lived with a guy who had Moon opposing Venus- he changed his lovers like unerwear. Was aa serial bed-hopper and many were attracted to him.

If somebody's moon is in sync with their venus and their venus is in line with their mars, they're more likely to be consistent, stable and better long term partner material.
