I'm glad to hear it's getting better, acousticbob.

m.blade, I can relate to a degree. Whenever I know that a Saturn transit is approaching, my internal dialogue is like "Oh, lord". I think those two words sum it up, ha.

For me, my natal sun and Lilith are in conjunction in 8th house. So every time Saturn touches my sun, it touches Lilith, and it transits my 8th house.
So every time, I deal with a death. I don't think there have been any exceptions.
It makes Saturn very hard for me to like, but I usually end up forgiving him. Eventually. He's like that militant authority figure that you can't help but respect and admire.

Sorry to hear that you're feeling so alone, I hope it gets better towards the end of the transit.

I've got planets/luminaries in Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. I've already had my Leo Moon hit, my Aquarius Sun and Scorpio Neptune, then Saturn backed up and hit my Moon again (that's about where it is now). All of this is happening in my 1st house plus my 4/5 and 10/11. No problems so far, but I'm used to having hard aspects. Plus this is my 2nd time experiencing this. I also went through these aspects in the mid 80s. I tried to think back of anything awful during the 1st go, but actually I think things were pretty good back then, too. Maybe it's just me? Maybe it's because I've gone through this before (and the economy was much better back then, too). Maybe it's because I had a Cappy dad and he reared me with that "responsible Saturn energy". Maybe it's because Saturn is on my IC so I've essentially got the old boy right at my "core". Who knows? All I'd like to say is, don't be afraid of a transit. If you're expecting it to be bad then maybe you set up for that energy and a more positive outlook can change that? Tired. Rambling.

Hi JKitty,

I agree with much of what you have to say regarding what we choose to focus our energy on in life...unfortunately, we all make mistakes in life, and sometimes Saturn will really make those mistakes clear to us. It happens.

I didn't know anything about Saturn transits when I was young, but as I look back there was a death (sometimes quite major) whenever Saturn touched my sun/Lilith in the 8th house.

As I learn more about astrology and become more tuned in to my own self, transits that I feared have turned out to be just fine, although perhaps exhausting (so far).

I learned a lot from Robert Hand's book Planets In Transit--it's better not to fight the transits, and to try to focus energy in a positive way that will still allow the hard aspects to play out (if that makes sense).

But, all in all, as an adult who has lived through my Saturn return, I do agree with what you have to say regarding where we place our energies.

I've been reminding my Leo husband that this will pass, the project will get finished, and then we can go on about our lives.

Yes! I always look forward to the renewal.

If you learn from it, is it still a mistake?

Now there is some real strong wisdom in what you said about focusing energy in a positive way. Maybe that's what we need more of in astrology.

Yes, that is what I'd like to see more of here. There are soooo many young people on this site, that I'd like to spread more hope and wash away the excessive fear. It's so sad to hear young people agonize about whether they'll ever find someone to love them and feeling bad about a hard aspect in their chart and then dread every hard aspect.

A hard aspect is like a match. There WILL be a fire. What will you do with it? You can use it to cook or keep warm. You can use it to hurt or cause damage. "Wow, an opportunity to ....." is more of the attitude I think we need, ESPECIALLY since astrology allows us to see them before they come.

God, I have been so "teachy" lately. I'm getting ready for the new school year. Can you tell?

I had a health problem too that lasted for months, now Im better though. I had to cope with deaths too and I generally feel really doomed right now. Saturn is square my Sun right now.
