I feel like this thread has potential to become controversial so I’ll just put a disclaimer at the beginning saying I’m not looking for a debate, just advice.

I have major 6th House influence and I’ve noticed I’m very non-spiritual. I don’t believe in a higher power, supreme being, guardian angels, karma, fate, fortune-telling or anything meta-physical. I am very “scientific” so to speak and have a hard time believing something that isn’t fact or something that isn’t proven or tangible.

The fact that I like astrology surprises me since it too is considered occult. However I have seen the effects of astrology and I think that’s why I’m inclined to believe it. I take a very growth-oriented psychological approach to astrology.

The problem is that sometimes my lack of faith is borderline nihilism. I don’t really see a deeper meaning behind life because meaning is a human concept that I really don’t think extends beyond us. I don’t even believe in the concept of the soul, to me that just a projection of our brain.

Regardless if this is true or not this is very debilitating on an emotional level. Humans need some kind of crutch to support them or else they get thrown in chaos. Nothing is more terrifying for a person than to have meaning taken away from them. This is true for me as well. I often feel disconnected from the world and I suspect all my bad emotions and anxiety are somewhat caused by not being able to channel my energy correctly.

I figured this has something to do with the 6H since it is opposite the 12H which deals with these matters. It could also be the Mercury/Uranus square (I refuse to believe anything that is preached to me or that has some kind of restrictions) and/or the Mercury/Neptune square.

I’m afraid I’ll alienate myself with this thread since I’ve noticed this community is big on spirituality. But this is also why I’m turning to you. How do I make myself have some kind of faith and if not faith then optimism about life? I’m tired of feeling so ostracized and disconnected from everyone and everything.

Is this coming from the 6H? Could be something else? Is there anyone else who feels this way?

What do you have in your 8th house, and is it aspected?

I have a lot of friends who are atheists, and a few who are Buddhists. Personally, I don't follow any particular belief system, but I do have belief (I'm Neptunian, after all).

Maybe you could post a picture of your chart?
Obviously, most members have greater knowledge about the intricacies of astrology than I do, but I've found that there's usually something for everyone...even atheists. But I also agree that it's important for us to have *something* to believe in.

So...8th house?

My 8H is empty. It is at 25 deg Sagittarius and intercepted in Capricorn. Its cusp doesn't really make a tight aspect to any planet.

my bf has a chart similar to yours - everything (major planets) is 6th house except opposing moon in 12th. he has tried out every single religion possible and has yet to find 'the one' religion that speaks to him. he's not against religion, but searches for some type of 'proof.' this has gone on his whole life. so there is not an absence of spirituality, but an active search for the one religion he believes in/aligns with. he's obsessed with finding spiritual answers yet practices nothing.

Interesting our charts are very similar.
I have 4 personal planets in h6, I also have Neptune in h9.

I' was not much of a believer myself. I never really took the time for any of it. I always respected others beliefs but, I stayed away from all of it. Although I have always believed in karma, destiny, and fate.

I'm 41 and I believe I am having my spritiual awakening.
It's been confusing, and amazing at the same time.
But I still have logic telling me one thing, and destiny drawing me to something else. My mind debates this logic..

Maybe at some point in your life, you will have a spritiual awakening. Maybe you won't..
Either way it's ok.

What ever it is you believe, you should be comfortable with. Others should respect your beliefs, even if they don't agree.
Be your self, maybe one day you will find a higher meaning, maybe you won't..
It's ok either way..

I have a 6th house stellium, Mars, Pluto, Saturn in Libra. Also have Pallas in the 6th house and my vertex. I guess I'm what you would call agnostic. I still pray though because I see it as focusing positive energy towards who or what I am praying for. I have some alternative views on spirituality. Organized religion is not for me personally, but I respect the beliefs of others. They don't always respect my beliefs though.

Erm... Most of my astrological knowledge comes from personal experience only, but I'll offer what I can think of.

Maybe, with Neptune in Capricorn and your Scorpio sun in the 6th house, you might try some really basic "earthy" type activities like yoga or tai chi, and that could open up some doors for you?

With your Gemini AC and empty 8th house (my understanding of an intercepted house or sign is still completely vague), I would imagine that it would be difficult to find faith in something.

Many atheists I know simply choose to put their faith in science, but it sounds as if maybe that's not working for you?

I would try some basic meditation exercises or yoga (my ex was a Taurus with Gemini moon, I don't remember his other placements, but he had a terrible time with spiritual concepts; eventually, meditation and a bit of Buddhism kind of worked for him).

Hopefully someone else on here can be of more help.

Myself, my mother and my sister are basically atheists. None of us has planets in 6th house.

My mother is actually very Neptunian so I am not sure if the lack of faith is due to 6th house....

None of us is nihilist tho

What Lioness said.

<Edit>
Because it sounds like you're struggling with the *need* to find something to have faith in (if I'm understanding you correctly, which I might not be), I would still suggest "earthy", "practical" activities to help you. Yoga, Tai Chi, meditation (there are classes or groups for all of the above in most places), or even something as simple as gardening, connecting to the earth...?

There is scientific evidence that suggests that people who spend a lot of time outside, gardening or doing whatever, feel better in general (if that helps your Gemini AC, it's scientifically supported, ha).

Best wishes to you.

My bf is a 6th house stellium and even less spiritual than I am. He thinks astrology is just plain silly. Sometimes he gets annoyed by people having convictions, (so pretty nihilistic); I wonder why or how he has any morals at all sometimes.

I have a 6th house Scorpio stellium but I'm the complete opposite.

Spirtuality and faith are important to me and I know deep down nothing will ever take that away from me, even if there are times when I get depressed or extremely cynical.

It could be that my Venus (co-ruler of my 12th and significator of one's values) conjuncts Jupiter (ruler of my 8th and traditional significator of faith / religion). So I have a love of (Venus) faith (Jupiter).

Could also be that my South Node is in the 12th house (a few minutes away from my ASC) - so it feels natural to see the world as a spirtual place and not just physical.

I like the thought of a loving presence always being there for me and angels surrounding me when I need them.
It helps me a lot.

Hmm my mom has 6th house moon in scorpio.
She's very 'new age' spiritual.
She believes in aliens/star seeds.
Pretty open about astrology.
I remember when I was little she use to tell me we're both Gemini's & that we share a special bond..
Our suns actually conjunct.

I have pluto in the sixth house and I'm just open to anything.
I like to study metaphysics etc.

I just took a better look at your chart, and yeah...
Saturn is transiting Scorpio right now, so will be/is in conjunction with your Scorpio stellium planets, and is trine your Pisces Saturn.

I could see how this transit could be creating the feelings you're describing.

Keep searching, if that's what you want to do. It may seem nihilistic right now, but you might just find the place where you're comfortable, spiritually speaking.
