Hello all!So I read that if there is a 3 degree distance between two signs is considered a cusp? So my moon in cancer at 3'17", venus in scorpio at 3'1", and mars in libra at 2'52"...are these cusps? And if they are, do I have blended traits?? IP: Logged |

Cusps are the dividing lines between signs or between houses. The idea of "blending" is based on Sun-sign astrology when someone doesn't know where the other planets in their chart are located. Mercury is never more than 28 degrees from the Sun and Venus is never more than 48 degrees from the Sun. If all you know is that your Sun is in Capricorn, it makes sense to think of someone in the first days of Capricorn as being "on the cusp" of Capricorn and Sagittarius since the odds are that Mercury or Venus would be there. Or if you're at the end of Pisces, you may well have Mercury and/or Venus in Aries. BUT if you have an actual accurate birth time and know all your planetary positions like you do, there is absolutely no need for you to think of your planets as being "on the cusp" just because they're within the first 3 degrees. I've got Mars at 0.13 Cancer. It is all in Cancer. There is no need for me to treat it as though there was any Gemini involved. IP: Logged |

If you're interested in the cusp of houses however, you might want to blend since your planet or luminary might be in the 10th using one system and the 11th using another. I've found that in this kind of situation that you should consider both houses and that both hold true.IP: Logged |
