I know people with 12th house Mars and it's pretty sad to watch. Lack of ambition. Always the victim. How do I help the individual? How does he help himself?

Outer planet transit!
In hard aspect to that 12th house Mars.
That sould shake things up a bit.

Otherwise you really can't do much.

It's gotta be an internal process - you can't help someone if they don't want to help themselves.

I am a H12 Mars male! I do lack ambition. Practical ambition, I mean. I think the best thing to do is be there and help enforce their practical goals. They tend to be late or behind in the class, but if someone is there to help them see things through, they'll come unto their own.

You call me a VICTIM!

PFFT

I show you a Mars in 12th house!

Just kidding.
But seriously it is not the Mars in 12th house alone; there are very successful people out there with Mars in 12th.
You don´t have to like them, but they exist.

Arnold Schwarzenegger
Jude Law
Mick Jagger
David Letterman
Queen Victoria

etc.

There are things to consider with that Mars-position, yes, and honestly, I would rather warn the rest of the world, cause that mars can sometimes be like a Jack-in-the-box.
You don`t see it for a long time and will be very surprised if it may show its face, and usually it is wiser to duck for cover, if a12th house Mars really breaks out after a long time on boiling beneath the surface.

For me personally, maybe I don´t feel like a victim because my Mars is very close to the ASC (2 degrees), could be.

Bottom line though is, that mars in 12th on its own is not necessarily indicative of a victim mentality, there wll have to be some other indicators of this, too.

Oh and btw what do you mean with "lack ambition"?
Are you sur you are not projecting your thoughts of what someone`s ambition should be on others?
I do not mean that in any accusing way, it is what us humans do. We think that what is good or desireable for us, will be for others, too. And that is not always true.
The Mars-person ambition may be focused on another field than what society maybe expects.

It is not really a lack of ambition though, but a discrepancy in what the mars in 12th individuals and society`s priorities are.

May I ask ... where is your mars in 12th house? DO any planets aspect to ur mars?

When mars is in 12th , the planets aspect to it help bringing mars alive and the late decan of12th hous mars considering as a powerful one , you fight till you drop ,it's in your awareness subconsciuoss.

I 've seen 2 successful person with mars in 12th
1. Afflicted mars in 12th but has pluto square it . Although it's afflicted and hidden , he is a successful man in his job.
2. Mars 12th conjunct AC 4 degree. Same as 1.

I didn't know that SE. You don't feel like one to me. Is your Mars within 10 degrees of the ASC?

Which Mars is it, Friend?

I have Mars in Gemini in 12th house. I dont suffer from lack of ambition regarding my studies or work. What my problem is, is that I keep a lot of feelings to myself, I daydream and many times act sideways in order to get what I want. Im not upfront, I'm pretty much somebody who acts behind the scene.

But the lack of ambition things is really not me, in fact I get frustrated when I see people who dont have ambitions.

I agree with Ceri's points about regarding ambitions differentely from the person you mention.

I also agree with the point made, fight till you drop. A Mars in 12th house, wont give up unless he wants to, but not if other people try to make him quit. It may appear like he has quitted, but he will act sideways till he gets what he wants eventually.

This is how I feel with my Mars. It is well aspected though, trine my Sun and trine Saturn.

Also I would like to mention that as this Mars gains a Netpunish air, the individual with such a Mars may be prone to alcohol and drugs.

I do believe this placement makes people very complex and not so easy to read or understand their actions.

I think that if Mars is within 10 degrees of the ASC, it is conjunct the ASC.

To me, this really changes the situation and there is a big difference between this mars and one that is "truly" within the 12th house.

That is one man's opinion.

Yes, I agree, my Mars is so close to ASC, that it might be a different case.

Mars on 5 Sagittarius 12th house
ASC on 7 Sag
Neptune on 10 Sag
NN on 10 Sag in 1st house

Mars has an exact quintile to Aquarius-Moon in 2nd house, plus it is exactly sextile MC on 5 Libra and also sextiles Pluto on 9 Libra).

Some people wold maybe also consider the 6-7 degree square to Jupitr iN pisces in 3rd house.

My husband has a 12h Venus/Mars in Aries conj at 26/27d with a 1d Taurus Asc.

They're definitely in the 12th/*not* 1h, but they're also definitely conjunct his Asc (if that makes sense).

He doesn't lack ambition, just confidence even with a a Sun/Jupiter conjunction.

@Ami Anne; my Mars is in Leo, 18 degrees. My AC is at 26 Leo.

Mars also squares my Sun and my Jupiter.

I would call that 1st house Mars, SE. You do not seem like a 12th house mars, at all. You are very outgoing and assertive. That would not be a 12th house Mars imo, anyway

This definitely is a 12th house Mars, unless using whole sign houses.

However, I think it is different having Mars in the same sign as the ASC or in the sign before. It makes it easier accessible somehow.

So, how would one interpret a Mars in Virgo 12th house conjunct moon in the 4th house Capricorn (which moons is conjunct the IC as well) aslo my mars squares Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Chiron AND...SEMI-squares Pluto..and lastly SEMI-sextiles Ascendant (which is in Libra btw) How horrible is that!!! D: HELP!

Edit:: Mars also SEMI-sextiles Jupiter (which is in the 7th house Aries conjunct DC)

My 12th house Mars doesn't do this.
It squares my moon, conjuncts my Mercury, conjuncts my asc, and trine Jupiter.

I'm EXTREMELY punctual and I simply cannot stand not accomplishing something every day.

My Mars in XII is in Aries, and it conjuncts my Sun( 3 degrees) and Venus(5 degrees)and my AS is 11 degrees away, and opposes Pluto and trines my Neptune.
I am ambitious, although my Mars is pretty active with these aspects.
