I have Saturn in sag and I am trying to gain weight. Sorry, just saying so you don't get hung up on the theory

But I do see what you mean, everybody is trying to lose weight around us, is that what you meant?

I am curious about what the meaning of Saturn is in the signs ruled by Jupiter since the two planets are supposed to represent opposite concepts. Saturn is contraction, Jupiter expansion. Seems both would be uncomfortable in each other's domicile yet Saturn supposedly finds its "joy" in the twelfth house, where Jupiter is supposed to reign. Not sure how to interpret this.

Saturn in Sagittarius might tone down the enthusiasm and be more cautious than typical Sag. I've always thought of overweight people as Saturn in Aries because an obese Aunt has it there.

Exactly my train of thought, about the concepts.

My dad was Sag Saturn, he had a paunch after age 60 that he was mindful of, but it was nothing major. He was fit.

Ditto for my Sag Saturn husband, only the paunch came earlier...he's fit, too. I mean he's muscular.

I think the lessons of Saturn in Sagittarius would be something more like "cautious expansion" or "realistic hopefulness" or "philosophical discipline" or "restrained optimism".

BTW I've got a conjunction of Jupiter-Saturn so I've got 1st-hand experience of how those energies blend. I think Saturn in Sagittarius would be similar.

Mine is in Sag and I don't have weight issues. But I have always put in so much work and energy into academic pursuits. It's in my 6th house.
It's more about work, than health/weight for me.
