And possessive of the inner self in general? Do you think it can manifest this way? Recently I've realized it might be the case when it comes to me.

Hmm... I've always had it explained to me that way (I have this placement), but I could never really figure out how that manifests.

It's only now dawning on me, after looking at your question and having pondered my yod with Venus at the apex and Moon and Uranus at the sextile...that perhaps I do "hold onto" my emotions in some way.

I'm curious to know what you're thinking, exactly.

Something along these lines: "no one has to really know me, it's enough that I know myself, my feelings are my business, get out of my head, etc". I'm not very emotionally expressive and I'm becoming more and more secretive. (I'm glad I can be open here at least, otherwise I'd learn sh... )

But I also have a Saturn square so...

It's hard for me to zero in on exactly what my moon does, because it is involved in an opposition, a square, a sextile, and a Yod.

I will say that, although I will spill my guts to certain people (stupid Pisces sun), I'm very protective of my feelings and emotions.
They are kind of like possessions to me, in a weird way. They're MINE, and to my way of thinking, they deserve their own space, unhindered or pestered by other people.

I mean, I can be a very loving person, but yeah... I often need my space to work through whatever I'm feeling, and I do guard that space rather possessively.

Virgo Moon opposite Pisces Sun. Wheeee!

The 2nd house is the house of safety , so maybe the moon here needs to feel safe in order to express emotions.

I have moon conjunct saturn in my 4th house. I don't show my emotions in front of everybody, only to my family. The other person needs to become like family for me to express what I feel. 2nd house if the house of self sufficiency and security. It's about feeling safe.

I know atleast one person with this position.

Moon in 2nd house;

You value partnerships; friendships, romantic associations, business alliances.

You value socialising and being with differing people who reflect your values.

Your marrriage partner is likely to share your values.

Your partner and you are likely to have joint assets.

You are likely to want to marry and have a romantic life; you value romance and falling in love.

What house does the Moon rule?

AscTaurus, your statements amused me I can only relate to appreciating similar values in others. The Moon rules my 11th house.

Hm. I can relate a little bit to some of those descriptions, except for the marriage and joint assets part. But then I have a Virgo moon, and only married later. We have separate accounts.

I do value friendships and partnerships, but I'm fairly selective about them in real life. I can live a fairly solitary life, as long as I have some outlet for chatting with people once in a while, but I am one of those people who needs a partner.

I think it's a odd place for a moon to live, as I don't particularly value money (although I do value *things*...books, records, family antiques, etc.).

Hm. I would read more about it, but I'm too lazy so I just read what other people post about it on here.

Ok, so I have Gemini moon in the 2nd house, and Cancer is sign ruling my 3rd house.
What mostly everyone has said on this thread does seem to apply to me.

I am very guarded with my emotions. They belong to me, not for the world to pick on. And I have very few people that I am comfortable having heart to heart with. I am very possessive over myself, and my things when it involves people.
But I am very generous, to an extent with others.

You guys know how the moon is exalted in Taurus. Wouldn't it by house, mean the moon is exalted in the 2nd house?

I don't think I have come across with many 2nd house mooners. BUT, I have come across a lot of Taurus mooners.

Moon in the 2nd house, I would think is a very stable moon when it comes to emotions. Especially if the moon is in Taurus, and/or it makes postive aspects to the sun.

I may be a bit out of place with some of the things you said ASCTaurus.
I do not, and I repeat I do not want to share assets with my future husband. I think it's too risky, I fear for divorce, it could get really messy.
Therefore, I would sign a prenup before getting married, and only have a joint account for rent and to save money for the kids.
But of course this could change since I'm really young right now. Lol
I value partnerships and romance, more than marriage. I need to know I am secure with a person, not only because we both signed a document.

I have a Moon in the 2nd House Libra. (It is also conjunct my Pluto, North Node and Part of Fortune).

I would definitely agree that that I don't open up unless I feel safe. I am very generous while listening to others, and will share here and there to move along the conversation--but only those that have gained my trust really get into my inner world.

YES. I'm comfortable in my marriage, but it took me many years to find someone I even considered marrying, and I prefer having separate accounts.
There's nothing to be done about having separate assets where we live, but I'm okay with that much.

Yes. I do. I will not loan out books unless I'm ready to part ways with them. The same with money, actually. If I have it to spare, I will give it without expectation of payback. Otherwise, not so much.
And don't touch my books, my music collection, or things like my grandma's jewelry box, my grandpa's coat, or whatever. Also, don't touch my crystals or vintage clothing. Haha.

Second house Virgo moon here. I HATE when someone I have a crush on knows I like them, it really bothers me and makes me uncomfortable. When I was younger my emotions were tied to my possessions and finances. Oh, and cancer is my twelve house, which has venus in it.

Moon exactly Conjunct Venus in my 2nd House Gemini. It's all a the Money. Money makes me emotionally happy/sad. Money show me safety and security.
When I have money I'm emotionally stable when I lack money my emotions out of my control.

This! I have Moon in H2...money makes me feel stable and I get crazy anxiety when I don't have it. I'll deny myself things just to save it for a rainy day.

2nd house Moon - possessive of its emotions and feelings? More like possessive of their money and their partners money too since Venus rules love and money.

I read somewhere that 2H moon men marry older women for their money. I actually know someone with this placement and is with his "older" wife because of her income. Her money makes HIM feel more secure. Money is a big factor in their relationships.

He has even spoken of divorcing her, but he cannot, because of the loss of money. He would rather stay in an unhappy marriage then lose his money.

2H moon's have big love for money.

May be for most but not my case.
I refuse to marry woman of same age even though she had way better job and wealth compare to me. I refuse only because of two reasons. She is not pretty and inspite of higher ranking job she is not smart enough according to me. Note my social status very low and I'm very poor.
I have Venus exactly Conjunct Moon in 2nd House.

Ironically that man married a very academically challenged woman himself far from intelligent and bright and she is far from pretty. She had to spend vast amounts of money to change her appearance to try and become somewhat "pretty" but it's just embarrassing when you're and old duck in your 60's trying to emulate a 20 year old porn actress.

But he didn't care, he wanted her money and he got it!. Still rather cleaver on his behalf.
