Silly question but when doing 9th house ruler in natal chart is it done like this-My 9th house Leo's ruler is Sun which is in 4th house Pisces or do I go by -9th house natural ruler being Sagiattarius which is in my 2nd house? I never noticed or thought about it til now

You go by the sign on the cusp, Leo, and the sun. You can use Sagittarius for backup but Leo is first.

The planet ruling the sign that is on the cusp of your 9th house is its ruler. If you have Leo on the cusp of your 9th house, then the Sun is ruler of your 9th house.
