This baby pigeon was found in a drain so I took it home. It sat on my shoulder the whole time Any clue what to feed him? I have seeds and moistened bread that it refused. I am intending to let him go when he starts flying IP: Logged |

awwww I love pigeons, they can be tamed easily. He might stick around too. I can't diagnose his problem you'll have to do some research or take him in somewhere.I hope he feels better! IP: Logged |

Bread isn't really good for him. He probably needs something special like what you might find at a shop that sells parrots and similar birds. Something liquid for really young birds and a special eye drop type feeder.IP: Logged |

Oh yeah he could be diseased I didn't think of that either... LMFAO our mothers would be disappointed. If you live in the city there are probably people around who keep pigeons coups maybe you could contact one and leave him there. I'm sure they would know what to do and have the right resources. Noo I didn't want to see this one in a cage. If they're in a bird shop his life is gone.. I thought I could feed it but Dan he is very picky :/

No coups aren't bad, long ago people kept carrier pigeons some people still keep them around as a hobby. Most of the time the pigeons are free to come and go but these people feed them and give them a place to sleep.Thou I have to admit it's probably smelly and noisy and a doubt many landlords would deal with that, plus there are probably crazy people who lock them up... There aren't pigeon coups in my neck of the forests Kero. I'm not sure what they do with pigeons I don't think they would sell. It's only bird shops. Pigeons are found in the wild but only if they can fly. This pitiable fella I have here can't fly and he was also very sweet that's why I took him home. But I don't want it lol. I will try oats later n if it refuses to eat then it has to go

Feed him watered down cat food, it mimics the texture of the food they normally get as babies, I learned this from a neighbor veterinary I lived near. You would have to put alittle on the end of a plastic spoon and put it near his beak to get at. IP: Logged |
