What are your experiences with Mercury square Mercury, Venus square Venus or Mars Square Mars in synastry(not all of them at the same time, of course)?.For example, as we all know, in most type of relationships communication is everything, but what would happen with a Mercury square Mercury?. Could a couple overcome such a mismatched way of communicating?. IP: Logged |

Mercury squares can lead to misunderstandings. Which could be frustrating at times but mercury oppositions are so much more worse. Where it's flat out, I don't understand you.. and I don't want to!!You'll like have more fluid conversations with someone that has a mercury that trines and sextile your own merc. I've been in relationships with merc square merc and I can say the miscommunication was not really a big deal for me, but my mercury has an easier time adjusting to another person's mentality. Mercury square Mercury is really bad, IME. But mine is extra-important in my chart and it's in a fixed (read:stubborn) sign.Oppositions aren't that bad.. There can be balance and complicity. Again, IME. Venus square Venus - I really don't know about this one. It doesn't look thaaaat bad, cause Venus is a receptive planet. The biggest problem here would be different ways of showing love, and I guess that can break a relationship unless the two people are willing to make compromises (and that's where Mercury comes into play). Mars square Mars.. ouch. It can be super sexy but also very, very tense. To the point of arguing for the sake of arguing. If you're the peaceful type, this aspect will probably be too much to handle. If you actually enjoy some conflict and passion, it can be quite interesting.

From my experience with a former friend, we both had aspects consisting of mercury square mercury and venus square venus. She and I also had a square between our moons as well as moon square mercury. Oh and even a moon square venus which was the cherry on top of that cake. Bleah! We had so many ups and downs in our friendship causing us to cut ties during a period of time. Her sun is in Libra with moon, venus, and mercury in Scorpio. My sun sign is in Capricorn with moon, mercury and venus in Aquarius This friend had a tendency of being self-obsessed, annoyingly sarcastic, and not having the ability to listen and to be understanding. I found that to be extremely aggravating and that I finally cut ties again from her back in 2010 for good. Whew! Plus she and I seemed to be "polar opposites" in our ways of life. She was more conventional(She was part of the Greek system in college) while I was more of the artsy chick. That I believe also caused some riff between us. In case that you may be wondering why we became friends in the first place was us being huge baseball fans. As the game goes, three strikes, you're out! She obviously lived up to that. IP: Logged |

Is interesting to see the differences in experiences particularly between you and Kerosene. I have a friend which I share the Mercury square Mercury but oddly enough our conversations were quite flowing and natural and we get along just fine. We could spend hours talking to each other about anything.
I guess the severity of it would depend on the signs they are in as well, right?. What could mitigate such an aspect?. quote: Originally posted by Garnet75: ...
I'm guessing her inability to be understanding was a a key factor?. Fixed signs? IP: Logged |

I have a mercury sq merc with my love interest. I don't know if there are too many issues...only that a lot of the times I don't want to talk, I would just rather feel things. His merc is pisces and mine is in Sag also conjunct neptune. Perhaps Neptune makes the Sag merc more compatible with Pisces? IP: Logged |
