i've heard that having harsh sun/ saturn aspects makes you see yourself differently than others in a physical way.
for example: you could be absolutely gorgeous, but when you look in the mirror you just don't feel that way, but others see it.
is this true? or are there any other aspects that could make you feel this way?IP: Logged |

I have Lilth in my 1st house and I always seem to find something wrong about how I look (it's not just puberty lol)Sun is ego. maybe ascendant aspects? IP: Logged |

The true you is whatever you want to make it.
It's kind of sad when people assume looks determine their self worth.I have sun trine saturn and venus square jupiter in virgo. I can identify every flaw on my body but I brush it off because I'm good enough.
I have so many desirable traits and with the added bonus of being easy on the eyes.
Plus no one is stopping you from transforming your looks to what you want to be.

It could mess with your confidence. Saturn is rough on the ego. I have the trine. It's tough. I often feel as if I don't match up and this is supposed to be the easiest one. IP: Logged |

the reason why i asked this is because i have this problem, somewhat.
my sun is in leo opp saturn in aquarius and my moon is also in aquarius opp my sun.
sometimes i think i look amazing! other times.. ick, can't even look at myself.
when i read about the sun/ saturn aspect (i think it was actually somewhere on this site) and looked at my natal chart, it was kind of a "aha!" moment. i see my friends wearing amazing outfits looking like models, and when i mention to them that "i wish i could pull something like that off" they always reply with "YOU COULD! WHAT'RE YOU CRAZY?" so yeah.. lol.IP: Logged |

I have my sun opposing saturn and believe me it's been rough. I've been doing my best to shake off these feelings of inferiority. Very difficult to cope with.IP: Logged |

My Saturn Squares my Sun, Jupiter and Midheaven. I deal with feelings of physical inferiority often, and have since I'd say round age 12. This may be a cultural thing too, and being overly sensitive sometimes. I also have Venus Square Ascendant and Neptune Oppose Ascendant so I believe sometimes that how I think and feel about myself is how others see me also. I often feel unattractive and think others think so too, which can be very difficult at times.

Yeah I mean I'm not that insecure about my looks but eh every now and then I become a bit critical.What about body dysmorphic disorder? What in the natal chart suggests this? Just seems interesting. IP: Logged |

Same here. I find Saturn can take me to that place where I feel soooo negative it's really awful. One word from someone can take me there sometimes. This is what Saturn has been like for me (it squares Venus) and I get the feeling from others on LL, like, they experience Saturn in this way at times, too.
Best way to describe it is feelings of hopelessness and a really super bad mood that doesn't want to lift too easily even though mine does lift at some point.

Then,it squares my mercury and I'm the typical perfectionist,searching for tiny mistakes in what I type(when i'm not too lazy lol) and thinking that "Oh my god,will people judge me if I talk?"It gets better as I grew up,though,when I was at elementary I used to get bullied about it. IP: Logged |

Saturn people are the strongest of all imo. We get through it, emerge with strength others do not possess who have not.

I am very Saturnian and I have Saturn conjunct my Sun in 10th. Overall, I never thought I was ugly(being Aqua really helps). But I was surprised when others find me to be beautiful and my best friend says my behaviors have strong patterns of underestimating myself. The thing is, thanks to Saturn, I never worry about "losing" because i figure I am not good enough to always winning so might as well just try things out and forget my ego. IP: Logged |

Never losing is actually a bad thing, not a good one. I have saturn in aries and some aspects to sun. Things used to be bad. I mean really bad. I wasn't comfortable doing a lot of things until I gradually got out of that mess. It's more of an aging and understanding of this world thing. But yeah saturn makes you feel.. not a full person, or not someone who should fully enjoy the opportunities of life.IP: Logged |

Yep it happens to all the Saturn ruled, even sun and venus in Cap
But one good thing about Saturn it keeps you grounded and non excessive
I can imagine a Venusian with zero saturn aspects, they probably will be more beautiful but also less stable and less wise. Saturn is wise and it also takes away. Some unluckiest ones cannot rise above saturn like if Saturn restricts their home or career they may never succeed in that area. For others it makes the area stabilized albeit slowly.

I see saturn as something that would guide you through life as a strict parent. Like you said venusian parent would be a very loving parent, but teaching no discipline is a bad thing too. Every has pros and cons.IP: Logged |

Saturn in my ninth house(in aries).
It does make your life tougher that it should be,maybe?But at least it makes you hard working,strong willed,determined to succeed and make yourself someone important,that is it's effect to me,at least.I never thought I looked like Shrek but as it was said above,I do get surprised when people tell me that I am beautiful and smart and talented and all the things that saturn makes me think I'm not.IP: Logged |
