Basically, an afflicted planet is one that makes a hard aspect to another planet. It's pretty safe to say that most people have several afflicted planets.. no big deal!IP: Logged |

Doux, is my Mars considered afflicted if it has a square to my ASC? Other aspects this Mars has is an exact trine to Venus, an exact sextile to Moon, a sextile to Jupiter, a trine to Mercury, a trine to Sun... IP: Logged |

I wouldn't say it's afflicted, because it makes so many flowing aspects. But the square to the ASC is definitely an 'affliction' and can create quite some trouble by itself, like over-assertiveness and irritability. But with the supportive aspects I think you're able to control yourself well.IP: Logged |

Also I personally make a certain distinction between planets when it comes to those which afflict and those which get afflicted. To me the malefic planets (Saturn, Mars and to a lesser extent the Sun) and the outer planets afflict while the others get afflicted. Let’s say for examples you have squares to Saturn from the Moon, Venus and Mercury. Saturn is not afflicted in this case, he afflicts the others. I’ve read somewhere that as a principle – in an aspect it’s always the slower moving planet influencing the faster one. Selene, having in mind what I just said I would tell you that your Mars is not afflicted, however your ASC is afflicted by Mars. IP: Logged |

My Saturn is conjunct my Moon in the 4th house (also trines my Jupiter in the 8th house). Does this mean Saturn afflicts my Moon in a way that I am "blocked" at expressing my Moon. By the way Cancer and Capricorn are the only signs that aren't on any of my house cusps (Capricorn in 5th and Cancer in 11th).

With Saturn, you could feel restricted or denied.IP: Logged |

Look at the house ruler to get a more complete picture.
