I am embarrassed having to ask this, but I've never completely understood the second house. I've looked into it alot, but never can come to a full answer on what it represents. From what I've gathered the Second house holds up the first house and is your Value, Wealth and selfworth of yourself and material items, gains. But is it a house of self worth/value? Or purely a material house? ------------------ 'The chart is your guide. Use it well.' Lakota, 18. IP: Logged |

I believe it's all what you previously said and it's sef worth meaning how much you value yourself; not just material wise but assets, skills and anything you have to offer. IP: Logged |

Thats great, cheers! I've read so many articles that just say the 2nd house is how you go about gaining material profit etc, and leave out that it does stand initially for value and worth. Do you know the way the chart works that i mentioned about when saying the 2nd holds up the first, the third is used to get the 4th to the 1st etc? This guy does a brilliant explanation on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm3uoH3WNyo

He explains how the chart is based on the directions of the sky at your birth and how the sun moves away and to the dawn of your birth------------------ 'The chart is your guide. Use it well.' Lakota, 18. IP: Logged |

I have asked the question of the 2nd House being self worth and I just can't feel it. It seems like it is how you navigate the material world, to me. I can't feel how the self worth fits in. I am not saying it doesn't. I just can't feel it in the scheme of how the wheel works.I am open to anyone's explanations. Thanks ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? That does make sense, i have a Capricorn Moon in the 2nd which i think means i like to show my achievements through wearing, showing them through clothing etc.. but i'm not sure on that, the video i just posted, the guy in it does a great spiritual explanation of how the houses connect to eachother through the suns path, that the 4th is your inner emotional state, the third is used as a bridge to get the feelings of the 4th to the expression of the first and the 2nd is how you value yourself to keep up the first ------------------ 'The chart is your guide. Good question. Maybe, it is not a house, per se. Maybe, it is what the Moon does.
Here is my reasoning. The chart is very literal and very logical. It starts with the infant( aries--first house) and then goes to the child building blocks and manipulating his environment. This is the banker, builder, gardener etc It is the material world. I think people are stretching to put self esteem there but I am open to changing my opinion. To me, self esteem is in what happens to the Moon and Venus, for 2 things to look at. It is the Sun and what happens to it. Is it conjunct Saturn. Is it in the 12th House etc

Yeah I think, but each house will lead into the next, similar to what you're saying. \Thanks for the video, I'll look into it IP: Logged |

Looking at how opposing houses relate to each other also helps understand what they mean. The 2nd house is opposite the 8th house of intimacy and other people‘s stuff... The 8th house is what we receive (or at least would like to receive) in the context of close relationships, and other people’s resources (the spouses assets, gifts, inheritances, tax returns, welfare benefit). The 2nd house refers to how we earn or get things for ourselves as opposed to having it given to us by others (which happens in the 8th house). The sign, ruler, and planets in our 2nd house shows the qualities and things that make us feel valuable, in terms of how we can use them to barter for what we need in exchange, like money and services. For instance, Libra or Venus in the 2nd house may indicate someone who feels they can use their artistic side, and perhaps their charm, to earn what they need in terms of resources, things, services, and money. Mars in the 2nd house may indicate someone who feels that they can use their assertiveness and enthusiasm in their ability to earn. In terms of personal relationships, the 2nd house represents what we have of value to offer others... Certain things, skills, possessions, attitudes, and attributes that function like a bargaining chip for us. The 2nd house refers to the stuff we have to offer, and not just material things, but also such intangibles having a positive attitude, or being loyal and reliable, or being fun and exciting, or easy going, or being a good saver, or having an interesting circle of friends, or having expertise and knowledge on a particular subject/skill… Along with the fact that we may also own a nice house, and have a certain amount of earning potential. The 2nd house shows actual ‘stuff’ that we feel we have to offer, along with the associated attitudes and characteristics that go with it. In close relationships the 2nd house shows what we’d like to be able to give the other, in exchange for what we receive via the 8th house. I have Capricorn on the 2nd house, and I’ve always thought of my loyalty as a strong selling point for myself in personal relationships.

The second house:No matter the sign on the house or the planets in the house, it represents your potential ability to have certain types of material assets (called personal property). Assets like: cash cloths and shoes jewelery high tech items furniture and fixtures motor vehicles (maintenance is the 3rd) airplanes skateboards cosmetics and appliances These, and other items are associated with your 2nd house. The Fourth House:
There are other assets, but they are associated with only the 4th house. They are; all real estate properties (houses, and other buildings) and stocks and bonds (this is where you own some stock in a corporation, like Apple Corporation). Eighth House: The 8th house represents, other peoples money. All credit cards and other loans you get are influences of this house. The Twelfth House: The 12th house represents your savings account and your retirement accounts. Now, if you add up all of the 2nd house stuff receipts, the 4th house stuff receipts and, the 12th house stuff last statements; you will get your GROSS worth. Take your GROSS worth and subtract your 8th house stuff (all of the money you currently owe other people). This will leave you with your
Gross Net Worth. slowpoke IP: Logged |

I want to add that 2H plays a BIG role in synastry, just wanted to point that out since it always gets overlooked.
