June and Jennifer Gibbons were identical twins born in Barbados who later moved to Wales. School life was incredibly difficult for them: they faced harsh bullying for their speech impediments, which made them hard to understand to people outside their family. They didn't mix with other children and were often let home early so as to give them a head start from the other students. Therapists couldn't induce them to speak to others and separating them in boarding schools only led to simultaneous catatonic behaviour.
As they progressed, they grew even more isolated as their speech started to become unintelligible to people other than each other. They would speak almost another language and mirror each other's gestures as they spoke. This caused them to speak to no one other than one another and sometimes their baby sister.
As they became young teenagers, they began to write profusely in diaries and later wrote many novels, novellas, and soap opera-like plays. Their fiction often involved strangely criminal behaviour (ex. a doctor murdering the family dog to use its heart for his son's a heart transplant, the dog later haunting and possessing the boy). When romantic flings and their writing led nowhere, they turned to criminal arson (their Aries Suns? ).
Their parents committed them to a high security mental health hospital. There, under medication, they began to lose interest in creative writing and even joined group activities such as choir.
Now the bizarre bit! When they were deemed ready to be transferred to a lower security institution, Jennifer died of an inflammation of the heart. June revealed that during their 14 year stay at the high security hospital, they began to believe one twin had to die in order for the other to begin to speak and live normally. It was a long held agreement between the two of them that if one twin died, the other would assume a normal life and after lengths of discussion in the hospital, Jennifer agreed to sacrifice herself. There was no source of the inflammation to be found.
Upon being visited, June said to a friend of theirs, "At last, I'm free! Jennifer has given up her life for me!" She now lives independently on her own. What do you think of these two? What sticks out to me is Moon conjunct Neptune in Scorpio and Venus conjunct Chiron in Pisces. I think they might have a very early Gemini rising, making Mercury their chart ruler and placing it in H12.
