I'd say a prominent Uranus/Mercury would give someone a lot of mental energy and make it hard for them to sleep (insomnia) and a prominent Neptune might make them generally like to be up lateIP: Logged |

I'm definitely a night owl. Waking up early is a nearly impossible feat for me unless someone wakes me up. I looove sleeping in during the weekends and during vacations.  I'm primarily Pluto dominant, but my chart ruler is mercury (Gem asc) in Sagittarius 6th house. Sun is in Scorpio in the 5th house, Moon in Pisces 9th house. Maybe the preference of being a day or night person depends on the dominant element and modality? My dominant element is fixed water and I am not really the on-the-go type of person. Mostly I like to sleep for nothing less but 8 hours everyday, but sometimes I suffer from insomnia...it's impossible to know when it comes, but it's almost always those days where I really have a lot to do and it is important that I'm fresh, then ofc I can't sleep....-.-And I'm a mercury/moon person, but with a strong uranus too, those nights where I can't sleep I think a lot about things, but mostly I think about how irritating it is that I can't sleep:P Oh, and I think pisces-placement in general makes the sleep very important, and gemini placements makes the sleep lesser important...I know a lot of gemini people who can do fine with no sleep at all for a couple of days and their brain works as always, where I'm the completely opposite of that!

I would have to say that I'm honestly say I'm like both lol I love waking up super early and I love staying up all night lol. Getting just a few hours of sleep doesn't really bother me. I normally do get between 5-8 and still my happy bubbly little self  IP: Logged |

Me too honestly! I feel like so much time is wasted sleeping. The worlds a beautiful place and I love learning and exploring it. Why couldn't our bodies decide if we ever wanted to sleep lol IP: Logged |

I have a friend Gem rising Pisces Sun Venus in Aqu from the time I met him he sleeps at around 3 am and gets up at 10am he is a musician  ------------------

does anyone see a link to time of birth and whether someone is a night owl or morning person? I have often found they correspond, and if you were born late afternoon to evening hours you're more inclined to be a night owl and those born early am-midday are morning people. anyone else notice this pattern?IP: Logged |

I've thought about that too. I was born in the evening, placing my sun below the horizon. My sister is also a night owl and she was born in the evening too. Both my parents are early risers. They were born in the morning, within the hours of sunrise. IP: Logged |

i've just noticed it as a general pattern more often than I haven't. it has also helped me estimate TOB for people who don't know theirs at all. i'll ask if they are a morning person/night owl and use their answer as a basis for TOB. might not work all the time, but it's a starting point IP: Logged |

im both a morning person and a night owl! i take a two hour nap during the day at some time and i just have allll this damn energy after so i stay up till wee hours of the morning and do it all again. ------------------

I’m a night owl. I was born near midnight. - ASC in Scorpio ( I’ve read that Scorp ASC people love night time, certainly true in my case. ) - 4 planets in 4th house (Moon rules 4th, Moon rises in the night) - Pluto dominant (Pluto doesn’t like much attention, loves to hide and do it’s thing, night is obviously better. ) - Fire void and Water dominant (could it be responsible? I'm def a night owl. It's like i come alive at night. Daylight is extremely annoying, and the only morning time i enjoy is -3am-6am lol. It's still dark outside Asc in Pisces
Water dominant.
I have mercury square Uranus too. I suffer from insomnia too.
