i was venus in a venus/neptune conjunction and when the blinders/rose-colored glasses eventually come off it's crushing. you 'see' the person for who they truly are and are let down. it's like a complete fairy-tale/fantasyland at the start and slowly erodes as you get to know one another better. i have neptune conjunct my asc in 1st house, so for me it was a feeling i am used to - being 'let down' by a partner. the person slowly falls from grace and their pedastal if that makes sense.

Okay well our venus/mars are in conjunction both squared each others neptune.
I've read that personal planets like venus have unrealistic expectations for neptune, they are under neptune's spell and sings venus to sleep.

You both have double whammy of sorts so both of you are in each others spell. So you don't have to worry about deception, because the neptune person has that power.
However our venus/mars square squares neptune in our natal chart so I think it's something we're use to?

I have to agree with the above when we both had to deal with real life issues things fell apart.
Although we both shared venus/saturn synastry so that's why were bound together.

Saturn is good to have
the problem is we also have Pluto-Venus DW and Uranus-Venus DW, and we're short on Saturn aspects.
I better RRRunnn for my life

I agree! I've experienced Neptune (him) conjunct Venus (me) in Scorpio exact 0a.
His Neptune/Mc also conjuncts my ASC. From the start I knew I was being delusional about him, but Neptune made it feel so good I didn't care. The inevitable fall was hard.

I'm disappointed by this ...
I thought it's a soul-connection thing.

I feel like it was a soul-connection. I had never experienced romance like that before and there was a lot of compassion and sympathy between us. But we were casually seeing eachother. Although that was a mutual agreement and the boundaries were there, they eventually eroded. If I remained honest with myself about our situation, I wouldn't have gotten hurt.

My Fiance's Neptune squares my Venus by 3 degrees and I gotta be honest... after 2 1/2 years things have changed a lot.

When we started dating I really thought he could do no wrong. I was smitten with him literally the first time he smiled at me (I still get butterflies thinking about that moment). Over time though, things had to take their course and while I'm not miserable in my relationship, nothing is really as it seemed in the get go.

I don't understand why/how people act so differently in their relationships in the beginning, or maybe it's just a Neptune/Venus thing. Don't get me wrong, I still love him and I still think that he's wonderful..But all the wooing and smooching and attention giving he did to please my Venus in the beginning is all but gone now because well.. The real world came along and if you want to actually create a life with someone, you have to deal with it.

I never thought I'd say I was thankful for Saturn, but we have a Saturn/Venus DW (trine/sextile) and I think that helped a bit when the fluff fell away. We've also got Sun/Venus DW (sextile/semisquare) and Sun/Mars DW (trine/semisquare)..

If it weren't for the connections we have other than Neptune/Venus, I guarantee you I wouldn't still be calling him my fiance.
