What makes someone a good listener or person, who everybody turns to in difficult situations?I find everyone coming to me with all of their problems and secrets! When they cheat on their partner, they almost get raped, they are ill, they want a break-up, they steal... All of these then follow with "don't tell anyone" or "I don't know why I'm telling you all this", or "you are the only one who knows... why am I telling you all this????" On top of these "secrets", people tell me their problems, dilemmas, personal issues, ask for the advise... Even though, I always listen and try to give them support and advise, it gets exhausting, because I take everything personally I'll worry for a long time, try to help... and obviously, I keep a secret. But, I wish I didn't know you "hate" your wife, because she is my friend. Why are you telling me this? I really DON'T want to know! Why people feel like confining in me? I've been like this since I can remember. The secrets I know about people are major. The pain I took is even bigger. Btw, before someone suggest any cliche "water" placements, I don't have any, cept for Sagittarius Moon 0 degree, which makes me feel like Scorpio Moon most of the time. IP: Logged |

Great thread! I'd love to see what everyone says. I also have many people coming to me with their secrets, worries, deepest thoughts, etc. So I definitely relate to you. It's kind of an "honor" to have people trust you in this way. IP: Logged |

Yes, it's nice knowing people trust you so easily. But it can be so overwhelming and even uncomfortable. I'm told very personal things very often, too, even when people have only talked to me once. It's like I send something out.For placements, Scorpio is the natural psychologist. The ones I know (not just the suns) are really good at it and getting to the core of what exactly your problem is. Plutonic types in general seem to just know even before I do! Pisces, 12th house and Neptune as well. Neptune or Pluto conjunct one of the angles? 8th house planets, too, I'd say, it rules intimacy. Cancer or a strong moon for giving emotional support while listening. IP: Logged |

I feel like I'm a mixture of all of the above! I apparently have a Grand Trine in Water. So I have all (3) Water signs in my chart: Cancer Moon Pluto Scorpio (in 1st House) Pisces Mercury/Jupiter What about you?

Wow, you really have all three of them. That's pretty powerful. Pluto in the first, too. Then all packed together in a grand trine. For me? Venus and Mercury in the 12th, Scorpio Pluto aspects all of my personal planets, Moon conjunct Neptune in the 4th. It's pretty heavy energy. Chart ruler Venus rules the 8th house, too, and it's in the 12th. Hmm. Been thinking some more and a strong Chiron would definitely show up, too. It's the healer who can teach people through experience. Maybe some emphasis on air houses as well? Like the 3rd house, someone who needs communication and puts a lot of value in it. Water houses too for picking things up quickly. IP: Logged |

Yes, there are people I barely know, who share thing with me... But here is the problem: I don't have any water, no planets in 8th house. Could it be the 12th house, house of secrets? I have Sun and Venus there. My Pluto is sextile Sun and Neptune? Neptune trine Venus Acsendant conjunct Venus Maybe it's work of some asteroid? IP: Logged |

I also have Venus in the 8th. I think that definitely adds some intensity to our personalities! BTW...I've been using that word a ton lately - "Intense". Eh...oh well
As for 3rd House placements, I have: Mars Uranus Neptune All (3) are in that House! So I to communicate and I'm very broad in my style of communication. Basically, I can "adapt" to different people & places. Do you find that to be true for yourself? My Chiron is in Gemini BTW. So I guess I really can heal in this area?! lol IP: Logged |

I have neptune in the 3rd house, Virgo moon in 11th house, moon trine neptune. I sometimes feel like mother teresa when people are depressed, i always offer my compassion in times of others crisis. I guess with it being in my 11th house i look out for everybody, even if i don't know the person and they are depressed i offer them love and support. IP: Logged |

Not an expert, but maybe. Venus-Ascendant people come across as friendly, so that may be attractive for people looking for someone to trust. 12th house I can definitely see happening. Are you a very accepting person? Maybe they can tell and so they open up to you. quote: Originally posted by LovelyAries86: I also have Venus in the 8th. ^ Intense is the way to go sometimes. I can feel it in your post, your style is very energetic. Uh, I do adapt if it's needed. I mean, picking up people's vibes and going from there. Actually, I admit I don't know about Chiron in Gemini. But maybe? A lot of people around the same age have Chiron in that sign, so maybe the house and aspects would show you more. I'd totally believe you with your communication, though! Maybe you could sympathize with not being heard, and so put in more effort to make sure people around you have someone who listens to them? Just taking a guess here! If it's not too personal, would you say that's true? IP: Logged |

I know a Scorpio sun who is a terrible, ****** listener. I also know two who are great listeners. So it's all relative of the Scorpio's chart. But this sign is in general good at absorbing lots of information silently or attentively before speaking. Not every Merc-Pluto person is a good secret keeper either. I know two who don't keep secrets well and one is gossipy. I think good listening is Merc-Saturn since it's patience and maturity mentally aspect-wise. It allows the person to pause and think before talking or responding back. Merc-Mars will also lead to a chance of poor listening skills unless something counteracts it because it means your mind is all over the place at once or you can't hold back your words. I feel like Mars-Uranus could be similar if a person with this one gets fired up or incensed over something personal to him/her. Moon-Neptune aspects may show a person who is seen as empathetic and compassionate to others which would lead to him/her potentially attracting strangers with problems or people with problems who need a shoulder to cry on. I second the idea of Cancerian placements/influences potentially leading to good listening but again, it's all relative. I knew a girl with 1H Pluto and a Cancer Moon in the 8th and she had extreme communication issues where she constantly interrupted people. IP: Logged |

I need to just go on ahead and type the word 'INTENSE' into my signature.
I'm very aware of my energy now. Whereas, growing up, I did not know and that left me feeling misunderstood. So I do co-sign your above comment about me sympathizing w/ those people who feel UNHEARD. I try my very best to listen to, console, & uplift the people who come to me in their most vulnerable state of being. IP: Logged |

Good thoughts. Thanks for giving some input on when it doesn't work that way. I agree, it depends on how someone deals with what they've been given. Well-said about Mercury-Saturn and Moon-Neptune. Didn't think of the Saturn one yet, but again I'd agree, someone who thinks about how to put things would sure be seen as a good listener. It's interesting as I have both these and your examples of a bad listener (Mars-Mercury and Mars-Uranus). Do you think they'd cancel each other out? True, some Cancers can get too stuck into their own feelings. Can't imagine that 1st house Pluto helping (very powerful?). But overall they'd have the potential to have a lot of sympathy for someone in pain, wouldn't they? IP: Logged |

Maybe you should! It'd sure get you noticed hehe. Ahh, I'm sorry. If only you'd known back then what you know now, right? But... that is Chiron, feeling with people from your own experience. It's awesome you're trying to support them, giving them a chance to talk! You're definitely using your own Chiron. IP: Logged |

Yaaay, that's it then. Also, most of my planets are in "water" houses: Sun, Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune
