I know Neptune is astrology's version of rose colored glasses, or so everyone has said anyway. However, deception simply means the truth or reality is distorted. Under this line of thinking, could having Neptune in the 7th also mean knowing or being around people who are in love with you (and they're "good" people - aren't cons or liars, cheats, etc.) but you don't see it? Or they don't tell you? Not revealing their feelings is the same as deception, no?IP: Logged |

Neptune is when you see what you want to see, so it could be that your fooling yourself when you think they have feelings for me, but in reality that might not be the case. Or you could think they don't like you, but in reality they might. IP: Logged |

I wondered... I have it in my 7th house trine My moon and square my Sun, Mercury, Venus. Been single all this time and thought it was my fault, but maybe it's my fault in a different way... IP: Logged |

Ughh. That does hit home (Neptune in 5th, square sun and moon).
I'm married, but I will often misread my husband and make assumptions about how he's feeling on a daily basis. Ditto for in-laws, siblings, etc. Having my NN conjunct my Sag Neptune, thus my SN in Gemini, my immediate comfort zone is to want to talk about something that probably doesn't exist in the first place, or at least analyze it to death in my head (Virgo moon).

I guess all the neptune is not helping you in this case. It is hard to find guys that can balance qualities that consist of sincerity and appealing personalities etc. What kind of guys are you attracted to, like what are the qualities that appeal to you so I get an idea?

Thanks Kerosene! Neptune AND Uranus confuse me! I've never had a set type I go for. Ideally, I want a man's man. Someone who can fix things, funny, drinks a beer with his buddies, etc. Someone respectful, honest, and protective. The guys I attract are like that but to an extreme (Oh wow, maybe it's because of my Sag DSC despite none of my 7H planets being in Sag!) They smoke, drink, lie a lot. And yes they confuse me (I have Mars in the 12H which doesn't help.) I like Sagittarius Suns but I can't keep up with them. IP: Logged |

I'd guess the biggest downside to any outer planet in relating houses is that the outcome is impersonal. Take for example textbook interpretations - booze,drug, art... There's always something between the lovers,bigger, more important.

Neptune in the 7th can also mean that your partner has substance abuse and/or alcohol issues

I think that's a great way of dealing with it. I try to do that as well, but it's more difficult for me with close relationships. Something to work on and learn from, IMO. I just don't believe that people have to be taken down forever by hard aspects in their charts.

Well in my case, I use things that are unique to me. So perhaps anyone with an aspect like this needs to figure out what in their chart can help them. For example, I have a very very strong Mercury in Virgo conjunct Mars. (My Venus is Virgo too)
So if I don't leap right away into something that I shouldn't be in. I can bring myself back down to earth and nitpick a bit. Look at some "flaws" instead of just dreaming. For me, I set my sites on someone and maybe this is a little Leo Sun too. I don't know.
Then I just get carried away with a dreamy romantic, happy life and anything that could be seen as an obstacle or warning I brush off like it's no big deal. It can be worked through, or around.
I know that's not always true though. Sometimes I reflect back on to previous relationships where I did something similar and got a reality check later on.
That's just me though. That's how I kind of deal with it. Still though, it's not foolproof. It still gets me from time to time. lol IP: Logged |
