The upcoming lunar eclipse on October 18th is at 25 degrees Aries, which is smack dab on my ascendant.

Then the solar eclipse on Nov. 3rd is at 11 degrees Scorpio. A person close to me has their sun at 8 degrees Scorpio.

Have you had an eclipse on your sun or asc? If so, what happened and in what time frame?
I read that in can influence you from 6 weeks before to 6 weeks after.

I actually heard that the influence can extend to up to 6 months after.

If I had an ecclipse on my Sun, I can`t remember right now.

Both apparently.

I don`t know how much truth is there in it though. By that time the people might have some very transformative transits going on as well.

I've read that Solar eclipse has long period of influence. Also, these interpretations are rather young. As if the astrologers woke up one morning, relatively recently, and decided it so.

Eclipses are very pivotal, things done during that time period tend to have long lasting effects, much more than one would think. It appears to me that the things that happen between the two are the things to pay attention to. There are also six month intervals between eclipses that may or may not be within orb. If it is hitting your Sun, that is probably the most powerful effect. It would depend on your Natal aspects, as well as the Transitory aspects. Stationary Planets can be important factors as well. The Saros Cycle is important as well, I think it is about nineteen years. That can be a basic indicator, if applicable.
