I feel weird about this

I love meeting new people, but i hate it at the same time..because people usually try to get too close.. And expect to constantly hang out. And they want to know you in and out. Im Not interested in that. Which is very hypocritical of me, because the reason i like meeting new people, is for ME to get to know THEM. I enjoy trying to figure people out. studying them etc..I want to do the probing. I don't want people to to get to know me .. ..

Personal experience:
Fire and air placements make me sociable for brief periods of time with people I don't know very well...but then the water and earth placements are a bit more picky about who I actually allow into my life on a personal level.

Define "social." People consider me social and lots of adults tell me their life story, but I prefer two or three really good friendships to a hundred acquaintances. I'm naturally approachable (in a friendly sense). I sort of agree with 11nyaht in that people seem to rush the intimacy. For example: this new girl started working as night audit, she's an Aries with Libra moon. Super loud and outgoing. But me, with my Taurus moon, that makes me want to go hide under a rock - so I did. I've known her maybe a month and a half and she would text me after I left work "I miss you!!!!" That's weird to me. It's weird for a woman over 30 to have a middle-school enthusiasm like that, and it's weird to say that to someone you don't know very well and have never hung out with or formed a friendship with. So if you compare me to her, no I'm not social. But if you're thinking of people who are chatty and easy to converse with then yes I am.

"Social people" is pretty vague...but Kerosene has a good reply.

I have sun in third house, sag mercury (also in third house), sag rules my third house. It's weird that i am more introverted than extroverted though, must be Libra ascendant and all the neptune aspects. But once something interests me and i feel comfortable with people i find it hard to shut up.
