I'm not great at reading signs...so it's all lost on me.

Well where to start...from the start about oh a good 2 1/2 years ago i first met him at my place of work,we don't work together he's the business professional in what looks to be his early 50's and i clean his workplace at night.So we're completely different animals at the work place where as he is the high and mighty eagle i'm the earth worm.He initiated contact first and asked for my name and so i gave him it and didn't bother asking his name back i couldn't care less.It didn't signal anything it came off as just a curious mind wanting to exchange a name.So time passes by and the greetings get more frequent...i've avoided taking his can out on days he works late so i skip him and wait till he's gone and so then he starts chasing after me and throws his own trash out.That should have been the first sign he's literally chasing after me.The next time he asked me about not seeing me early and i actually told him that it was because i get uncomfortable around a large amount of people,didn't seem to get a reaction out of him he sort of walked away didn't think of it at the time but then again why ask me if you haven't been noticing that i'm not around?

A few months pass by and one night while working late he packs up and leaves...so i go in and do my thing to turn around and have him stand right there and say "i caught you" and i ran out of there as fast as i could and as gracefully with a pretend smile and laugh in my throat.The next week after that a few co-workers and him were working late and he saw me yells my name out asks how i'm doing in front of everyone,half of them looked like they were hit with a train the other half had their jaws on the ground.After months of keeping my identity a secret most of them were surprised that he knew what it was let alone that someone in the sorted place actually knew something about me.

Next day i had a few people ask me if this >>>>>> was my name i said yes and half of them weren't even in hearing distance the previous day so gossip in the work place.I got asked to work mornings For a month then one day i ran into him a good 4 or 5 times each in the mens loo,which he replied what's going on your popping up everywhere today.

Moving on.

A good year passes by and were at 2012 now,didn't see him much that year but a few several isolated nights here and there and each time he's asked where i've been and why i haven't been coming in early anymore.

This year in June i started making it into his workplace earlier...he took notice and about a month ago he made his move or at least i think he did.I ran into him one night in august he was late at work so i asked oh your working late he responds that's how it is sometimes.He tells me he's about to leave then walks into the kitchen 30 minutes later and says his goodbyes..i thought he already left.He's about to leave i could feel it until he stops,asks me if i drink coffee to which i replied no considering i'm a green tea freak.Says nothing else walks out sort of disappointed now can i just ask was that meant to be an offer for a coffee date? because i took the question how he asked it and i gave him a simple response.

A week ago i ran into him again and he asked how i was and i replied...i'm fine.So i ask him and absolutely nothing which didn't bother me one iota considering i didn't think i did anything wrong.If he wasn't answering that's his issue,he was cold as ice yet i've no clue why? Then right after he asks me what my plans are for the weekend? I thought light-bulb why does he care? especially if he can't even answer if he is alright fine or not.Why would i tell him?

Haven't seen him since.

My question is despite being hot and cold and what not...why is this man so confusing? If he wanted to ask me out why not ask me out on a date i would have said no it would be done! Yet then again i don't honestly know if he was asking me out on a date!

He probably found you attractive and maybe liked your mannerism.

But it's too uncertain to know the real answer:

He could be interested in you as your classed as a "inferior" to him.
Maybe he likes cleaners?

Like i mentioned i'm really bad at noticing any kind of signs,if it's not literally a direct question or a direct deceleration of what someone else wants then it's lost on me.
